I'm in Santa Rosa Beach, on the coast in between Destin and Panama Beach. Where is my EXCELLENT beer store? Chan's Wine in Destin is looking like the best option so far, but if theres anything closer, a tip would be much appreciated. I am mostly looking to try stuff I can't find in MI, preferably some southern micro (does it exist!?!?)

The only excellent beer store I know of in FL is way the hell away from you. Tallahassee is the closest place with a really good store, IMO.

The Chan's stores in either PC or Destin are probably the best options near there. They should have some southern micros you can not get.

According to seekabrew.com these brands are available in FL and not in MI, but who knows what kind of luck you will have finding any of them there.

Hey man, thanks much. Gonna go check out the Chan's nearby (hope they sell singles!), and I'll be making a little trip to the one in Destin tomorrow. Cigar City seems super hard to find, but that's what everyone seems to characterize as the best FL beer. You agree? Any specific recommends of "The Best Beer from Florida?" I like pretty much all styles.

Cigar City is the best brewer in FL, IMO. You likely won't find much if any of their stuff up there, and even less likely to find their best stuff. If you do find their brands and the bottles are not dated, they are really old. Unless it happens to be a style that should have a decent shelf life, I would still avoid it.

Jai Alai and Maduro are the two you are most likely to find.

Jai Alai is dated now... but I wouldn't pick one up if it was brewed before Jan since the stuff tends to go downhill quicker than others. Delicious fresh... So-So old.

You might want to stop by Pensacola Bay Brewery or McGuires brewpub if you get a chance... their stuff aint half bad.
