I'll be heading in from NW suburbs on I-90 so anything along that corridor is fair game. I'll be going on Monday night. Should be hitting town around 3:45 or 4. I either need to shop for tailgating, or just hit up a bar somewhere. I know Maria's is close to the stadium. Was also thinking of Capone's and/or Revolution taproom (is this open weekdays?). Any suggestions on how to kill a few hours before the game?

Haymarket is pretty easy on/easy off I-90. Otherwise I'd just go straight to Maria's. (or both)

Maria's is looking more likely. It looks like they have free BBQ on mondays, and ZD on tap? Can anyone confirm?

The tasting room at the South Loop Binny's is a great place to have a few beers before a White Sox game. Usually has a pretty solid tap list. Have done it 4 or 5 times in the last year. Plus, the beer selection in the store is great. Found a few cases of recentely delivered Parabola in late September 2011 before a Sox game.

My vote is always to hit the South Loop Binny's tasting room. They always have at least a couple great choices on tap. We always have a drink or three there and then pick up some brews for tailgating at the park. Plus, it's a quick, back-neighborhood drive to the park from there.

Yeah the only reason I was thinking taproom was that it seems more easily accessable from 90, plus will be picking someone up at Irving Park Metra stop.

The Brewpub is not that far off from 90. It will add another 2 minutes to your trip. 2 minutes well spent!

Yeah I guess it's not as far as I was thinking. Is there a lot of street parking in the area?

Go to Hackney's in Printer's Row. You see lots of Sox fans there before the game. Great burgers and GREAT tap selection.

Go under a bridge and drink some bleach...

Sorry, that may have been in a bit harsh, but White Sux fans are the worst.

BTW, Tigers only a game behind now.

I'm not sure I'll be able to contribute anymore to this thread than this beacon of class did, but I'll give it a shot....

If you can make it to Revolution's brewpub on Monday, do it! If not, go once they start canning in the near future and bring some goodies home!

The aforementioned Binny's South Loop tasting room, Maria's, and Simone's are all awesome! If you still get to the game early after leaving those places or want to hang around for a bit after the game to let traffic die down, try out Bacardi at the Park, located at Gate 5 (south side of 35th). While not a craft beer destination, they typically have somehting from Half Acre on tap at $7 for 14oz, which is roughly the same price as a 16 oz. Miller in the stadium. Plus, it's run by Gibson's and you can get their Prime Angus burger with hand cut fries for about $10. Again, not a destination, but a great place to kill time with a solid beer and burger at the same price as the crap sold in the stadium. Plus, I see you're from Algonquin, so I'm thinking you may be a Cubs fan. It looks like they are playing an EDT game, so you can probably catch the first few innings of their game at Bacardi at the Park before the Sox game starts. You probably wouldn't be able to do that in Sox Park:wink:

Yes, but the block that Revolution is on is fairly busy, so the metered spots may be taken. If so, I've always had luck parking on the other side of California. Mostly vacant storefronts, so there's almost always available metered parking. Type in 2281 N Milwaukee on Google Maps to see what I'm talking about (Rev is 2323 as a reference). If you don't mind walking a smidge farther, Washtenaw is unmetered. Try 2211 N Washtenaw. I usually find free street parking there by the KFC.

So we did decided on going to Revolution tonight. I'll try out that parking spot on Washtenaw I think. Im curious to try the Bastille and Faustenstein. Probably will get a Double Fist too. Thanks for all the help/suggestions everyone!
