    Hi all,
My wife and I will be in DC for 2 nights in September. We will be staying using starwood points, so the options are the Westin in Georgetown or the W downtown. I am leaning towards the westin because it is less points per night, but it seems like it is less convenient. Will we regret choosing the westing in georgetown? We will do a couple touristy things during the day, and visit beer establishments by night.

    Thanks.

The W is definitely more of an experience--the rooftop bar has one of the best views in the city. It's also a bit more centrally located as far as tourist stuff goes.

Georgetown is cool, but staying downtown puts you more in the middle of things. You can easily get around using the metro, so it isn't really a big deal either way.

That said, go to visit Right Proper!

+1 on the W and on hitting up Right Proper. It's the most interesting local brewery, and the food's rather good too.
