I bottled Batch # 289 last night; a Belgian Wit.

I have Batch # 290 in the dry hop stage right now; it is a Citra/Simcoe hopped IPA.

There is a great saying I read somewhere: “Give a man a beer and waste an hour. Teach a man to brew and waste a lifetime.”

Needless to say but I personally wouldn’t choose the word “waste’ in the above quote but I certainly agree with the gist of that quote.

    Cheers!

Batch 19 is going to be opened next weekend. Rye IPA aged with some oak chips. They have been extract thus far but I really want to make the jump to all grain. Unfortunately, I don't have the money for the initial costs of all grain.

I'm at batch 37, I believe. Started with all grain on New Year's Day 2011.

59 with 60 coming up this weekend, another batch of my BIG IPL. Mixing this one up a little with a different yeast and mashing rice instead of using rice dry extract

That is a really good question. I've always kept track but have never counted. I just tallied everything up and I've brewed 83 batches. My record for amount of beer fermenting at once was 80 gallons. I have an army of carboys.

Back when I brewed 5 gallon batches I did a lot more every year, probably averaged 25 per year for 10 years. Since then I do a lot fewer batches, but they are 10 or 15 gallons so I probably average 12-15 per year.
That would put somewhere up around 400 total batches in the 20 years I've been brewing but that may be off by 10% or more.
I never thought I'd get so hard core into brewing so fast so it never seemed important to count batches.

having spent upwards of $60 on extract batches, and having spent around half that on my first all-grain, i can say i wish i did that too.

I am around 100 batches, the more i brew the more i think there are too many things about it that i don´t know.

We gravity feed through a plate chiller into the carboys. Didn't have a pump when we first started with these stands. For a time the burner was on the ground, but then we had to lift the pot onto the tailgate of my truck to transfer the beer. A 40 gallon pot half full is heavy.

Only up to 14 batches and I've been brewing 3 years :slight_frown: AND I split 5-gallon batches with my brewing buddy. Too much other good beer to drink I guess.

Batch #17 will be brewed tomorrow night. I started out with extract in May 2010, made the jump to BIAB JAnuary 2011, and converted a cooler into my mash tun in April 2011. I only did 10 batches total in 2010 and 11, so tomorrow will be my seventh this year, with a bunch more plan. Right now I've got

recently bottled: Sorachi Ace hopped witbier, Maris Otter/Citra SMaSH APA
fermenting: Citra hopped saison, hefeweizen (first decoction mash)
up next: blueberry wheat beer, English barleywine

Nice...february 2000 was my first entry in my log book. Unfortunately missed entering many brews over the years, but I have entered 132 in my log...guesstimate would be 150.

Lost count. It is somewhere close to, but probably not over 100.

Just bottled batch #1  Amber Ale (extract) with whole cone Centennial Hops and White Labs California ale yeast.
It's nice to read this thread and I did go and label all my caps with a 1 as someone had mentioned previously. Thanks for the inspiration guys!
