Well prior to 21 I always just threw in some money to people to have some of the keg or case, no one I knew who was 21+ really showed interest in craft, so I really had no way of even getting it. The only "good" beers, or so I thought, I had had before I was 21 was blue moon variations.

I'm twenty-eleven. Remember though, you're only as young as you feel.*

    *(In which case I'm forty-seven)

Dad got me started when I was 18. Then became my hobby at 21.

21! I've been into craft for like 7 months. I used to hate beer, but now I'm waiting in line 2+ hours for special releases...not sure if that's good or bad. :astonished:

I just turned 25. I've been drinking craft since I was 20. I still consider myself one of the old School BA's though.

I'm a 25yr old broke college kid, but I started like 2yrs ago. And with an addictive personality craft beer has been Amazing! No beer is the same, and their are thousands of them. At the growth rate of micro breweries I don't think I'll ever catch up, but the journey must continue.

When I was about 20 the only domestic craft beers that I knew about (that I recall anyway) were Pete's Wicked Ale, Anchor Steam, Sam Adams, and SNPA. There were probably more out there, but these were the main ones. Keep in mind, this was before the internet - so you really had to know how and where to look to find anything except the big macros.

I hope those of you in your 20s today recognize how fortunate you are and how far things have come - at least as far as beer is concerned anyway.

I am 22 and graduated college and am returning shortly for more education. I guess it's like beer that way. Can't get enough.

But I started the same as you, except I was drinking craft when I was 20 (thanks to a trip to Colorado) and then working in my parents liquor store. I now manage said liquor store and have expanded the craft selection vastly. It isn't the biggest in the area, but I like to think it's the most diverse. Over the past two years I've gone to beer festivals, breweries and beer bars (pubs?? Like the Flying Saucer and The Holy Grail) frequently.

I just finished my first trade recently and am addicted! I feel ashamed for shelling out money for Hopslam and Zombie Dust on eBay, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been (like Rare for $110...).

So that's kind of the gist of it. Looking forward to more trades!!

I started sneaking beers when I was in eighth grade and drank regularly (weekends) when I was a sophomore in high school. Of course most of it was crap beer. I did occasionally have a craft beer mainly SNPA, but didn't really like it. It wasn't until I was in college that I began to appreciate good beer.

24 years old here. Started getting into craft brews when I was 20, but didn't really start to journey down that paradoxical road of joy and hangovers until I was nearly 22, mostly because of funding issues.

25 here and in grad school. I drank craft intermittently with family from about 18 on (and crap for drinking games from then too). Outside of drinking games I always drank pretty much only craft (BORIS makes for a delicious but idiotic game of beer pong). Started with Aventinus and Schneider Weisse.

Didn't realize I was old balls on here at 29. My first legal drink was an Alpha King back in 2003. Haven't looked back since.
