I'm 21. I hated beer before I was 21 because people only bought shitty beer. Then the first bar we went to on my 21st Father's Office in LA where I had grimbergen blonde(I prob wouldn't find it good now though), from there I spent time exploring this new world of good beer.

I'm 22 and I've been "buying" Craft beer since my 21st birthday but had my first real craft beer at about 19 years old.

This is really an awesome thread, and my expectations admittedly were not high when I started reading it.

I remember my first SN Big Foot in like '91 or so. Me and a buddy each took a sip and spit it all over the floor! LOL! We called it Sasquatch Crotch and the other 4 beers sat in my fridge for years. I'd "trick" someone that would stop over and hang out just to watch their reaction and have a laugh. I remember drain poaring the last one in like '95 when I moved. I still feel like a stupid ass to this day.

I tricked a few of my college buddies into splitting a '97 triple bock with me. They all liked Boston and winter lager so they were all on board. I can be cruel sometimes...

Whenever I crack open a new beer I always get asked if it "needs to be filtered through a coffee filter"

What he said - although I'll admit the mix was heavy on the crap.

I'm 21. I turned 21 in November and I spent the evening at Russian River. Drank way too much Supplication... Still can't drink a sour without cringing.

I've been a beer nerd since then.

That was my first ever drain pour! Holy shit! I couldn't get that first sip out of my mouth fast enough. I actually kept trying until I realised that it wasn't gonna happen, and I poured the rest down the drain. I think I kept the bottle for about a decade as a flower vase and a horrible reminder to never buy that again!

EDIT: first drain pour of something that I was in the middle of drinking. I had poured out an unopened Big Foot before moving once.

I swear I like the weirdest beers that no one else enjoys. I loved the '97 and traded right afterwards for the '94 and '95. Mmmmmm, chunky port.

I've only had that beer 'new'. It tasted pretty much like slightly diluted malt syrup with some maple thrown in for good measure. Nothing off or chunky, though. I guess that the years wasn't good to it, based on all of the complaints.

I had it in '97 when it came out! I just wasn't ready for that! LOL! It was just awful!
