I got one and have been working on a game plan on how to tackle the task of soloing it. I plan to Crack into it one night and drink about 5 or 6 glasses. Then I am going to fill a growler up while the keg still has good carb. Then if all goes well try to finish off the keg the next day and work on the growler a few days later.

Ambitious indeed. If I tried to drink 5-6 glasses of Hopslam in one day I wouldn’t be drinking beer again for several days.

I'm the opposite. I think Focal's ok, and I like Julius and Fort Point (well, old Fort Point).

And now we have IPAs claiming 0 IBUs...we've come full circle!

Yeah, but you don't hate any of them. The differences just aren't that stark.

Where's all these places serving 10% beer in pints!?

While that does sound great, I'm the wealthiest member of Beer Advocate. So I can afford it.

    @meefmoff @steveh

Although I suppose a pint isn't that outrageous...it's packaged in mini kegs...see below.

Wouldn't you just trip over it at worst?

It was 6:30 pm EST when you sent this...I'm curious what time you respond today.

Oh no, I definitely don't hate them. I'd gladly drink a Heady or a Focal anytime.

I do think they're quite different than a New England style IPA though. At the very least, in mouthfeel and appearance.

I guess I could attempt this today. Just need to get a good foundation of food in me and a water after at least every other glass. I understand how difficult this will be I barley soloed my Two Hearted mini keg in 2 days I remember thinking this is more beer than I expected drinking it out of a large Sam Smith glass.

It’s gone here, even the TW only got a few cases. I’d try it on tap if I saw it, for $7-8 it would be worth a try.

A couple years ago I went to dinner at a local tavern and ordered the Goose Island draft (one of those places that has 8 or so tappers, no beer menu, and the waitresses know nothing about beer -- so I didn't even ask what the beer was). I watched them fill the pint with a very dark beer and started to rethink my choice... I could smell the bourbon about a foot away from the table. Told my wife she'd be driving home and nursed that BCS through dinner!

Sorry, don't remember what I paid -- but this place isn't one that gouges its customers.

There’s a couple bars by me (and one that was in Austin recently) that does flights of different BCBS vintages. At 5 oz. per sample...well, you leave the bar feeling quite toasty.

This year it ran me $25 if I recall.

I once got a 20 oz pour of hopslam for $5 on a poorly thought out half-off 20 oz glasses night at a college bar near michigan state. One of the drunkest I have ever seen an entire bar. They weren't even limiting folks

Did you pick up any honey in that batch? Because that sounds like a sweet deal.

Full pints of 10% beer. All taps are clearly posted with style, brewery and abv. Server also cautioned the strength from experience. I had one pint along with a tall ice water.
I would have loved a second but: I was driving, had other plans that night and a second would have lowered all resistance to perhaps a third.

A local shot and a beer bar by me once got a keg of Fat Head’s Head Hunter. When I ordered one, imagine the look on my face when the barmaid asked, “Tall or short?” I asked the price, and it was (pint) $3.50 or (23 oz.) $5.00. :flushed:
    Wife drove home.

While these are all fun stories to read, these are obviously all examples of bars being INCREDIBLY irresponsible and/or ignorant.

my guess is they were also all fun stories to experience. Nothing like irresponsible bars to facilitate a good time
