Smuttynose Finest Kind IPA was terrible....poured out the rest of the 6pk after the 1st one. Very disappointing, it was fresh also and I poured into pint glass... dry, not much citra notes and no substance. Bad from start to finish

    Yet you rated BA Abraxas a 5/5 and B&W a 4.73/5

My dad. Oh wait, that's not a beer.

I'll go with Your Father Smelt of Elderberries. I hoped it would be better since the line/movie was hilarious.

A friend f mine dropped off some Maharaja, I had been searching fo it for a bit after reading good things. What a let down. It was so overly sweet I barely though the first glass and had to really work to put down the second (I really wanted to like this). Almost made me put off DIPA due to the experience! I'm glad it didnt.

Southern Tier Pumking. Fully aware that it was not a pumpkin pie tasting beer that many brewers offer but a gourd/yam. Epic's The Gourdian was way better for the style, although not an imperial, but still... I was so excited to open my bomber of Pumpking because of all the hype. Eww! Back in mid-October I think I forced 8 ounces down and gave the rest away.

Southern Tier Warlock. Blech. I thought it sounded awesome until I tried it. Major disappointment there. It was thin, cloyingly, syrupy sweet, and over spiced to hell.

Make sure to avoid Founders Imperial Stout and Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout.

Actually, I second all pumpkin ales for that matter. I haven't had a single one that I would shell out money for again. The least worst I've had was Elysian Dark o' the Moon, but even that I probably won't buy again.

Oh...almost forgot. Surly Furious. Was so eager to try it when I got some in Chicago. I am glad it only came in a 4 pack. Big letdown.

Much as I love Sculpin and believe it worthy, I love your humility here. So much of the internet is trolls expounding, whereas you clearly put it out there in true "IMHO" style.

Bear in mind I had this from a clean growler, so I'd have to wonder if the bottles I got are that much better than draught.

But Hardywood GBS is probably the biggest letdown I've had in a while. The ginger character was nice, but the whole thing felt and tasted like it was 5% to me.

My aunt compared it to Guinness in terms of body and flavor intensity.

I'm with you on this one. I am one of my few friends who just don't like this beer. The malty sweetness gets to me.

KBS was probably the biggest disappointment. It's a pretty good coffee stout, just nowhere near one of the best beers ever. Maybe it's because the only other coffee stout beers I had before trying KBS were TH Good Morning and a few of their Double Shots. Either way, I'm not looking forward to trying CBS as much as I used to
