Mikkeller, as the mad influx of $35 bottles of BB Vanilla Shake shows.

(says a guy who may or may not have been part of said madness)

See...this is where living in KY becomes lame. I am pretty sure that KY law regulates you must have a liquor licence to receive a shipment of an alcoholic beverage. Anyone know for sure?

Good Lord, shipping from here is expensive. Any idea if the 3rd party stuff they sell is fresh? (i.e. ZD)

I'd imagine it's a whole lot less fresh than you can get via trade...it's going from Indiana to Denmark to California

I laugh at this thread.... if you want a first hand example of why the 3-tier system itself doesn't suck.... it's about the logistics man!

Wineries do it all day long and it's easy. The 3 tier system sucks and is bad for consumers.

Good luck getting all the beer that you love to get to your local shop without distributors.

Correct, although the info page says "we cannot yet ship beers to other states".

Does anyone know if they have plans (short or long term) to expand their direct shipping footprint, or an I reading too much into that language?

Just a bit of positive verbage on their part probably. I'd imagine laws need to be changed first.
