So we all know that many of of the yeasts we use are strains from professional breweries, but the yeast companies never tell us which ones. I've been able to find out some of them (WLP500=Chimay, WLP550=Chouffe), but does any one know of a source that lists them all? If not, can we get a list together of what we do know? I'll start: WLP500: Chimay WLP530: Westmalle WLP545: Rochefort WLP550: La Chouffe
The commercial supplier do not say what the yeast is for a variety of reasons. The mrmalty site is a good reference.
