I would have never tried Founders BS without Beer Advocate. But now that I have.... It is one of the tastiest stouts around. So smooth but also bold favors. Am I a beer snob now? I don't think so.

    Founders. Hands down. Founders.

    Breakfast Stout is amazing.
    Imperial Stout is even better.
    KBS is some good stuff.
CBS, even though I've never had it, is supposedly heavenly.

Im surprised no one else mentioned Sierra Nevada. Their Stout and Narwhal are both awesome, and Fritz and Ken's was/is so delicious.

Michigan owns this one. Founders, Bells, Dark Horse. The quality and number of stouts is unmatched.

Founders, Firestone, and Goose get my vote. Big fan of Old Rasputin from North Coast as well.

lol @ Goose Island being mentioned in this.

Founders for me, based on what I've tried. If any FL residents want to send me some Huna, I'd gladly change my vote.

Bells and Dark Horse would be better than GI for me just for BB Pt5 and Black Note alone.

I love Founders with relatively easily-attainable Breakfast Stout and Imperial Stout. Fresh Breakfast Stout just can't be beat and the Imperial is one of the best RIS that I've had to date. Also their harder to find beers like KBS are absolutely phenomenal. KBS is easily my favorite BA stout that I've had so far.

However, I'll tell you what, I recently tried the whole lineup of the Southern Tier Blackwater Series and they are phenomenal. I think Southern Tier distributes to most places on the east coast anyway and their beers fit exactly the bill that they say they will. Want a chocolate stout? Look no further than Choklat. Have a sweet tooth? Creme Brulee has your name all over it. Like coffee? Jahva and Mocha are awesome. I understand that some of these variants have been "retired" (I'm sure they'll be back) but wow they were all terrific.

Honorable mention to Blue Mountain's Dark Hollow series.

Hard to mention Goose Island since their only stouts come out one time of the year and can be hard to find as well as pricey. But Bell's then Founders does it for me. Lots of places have one great stout, but not 3 or 4 like those ones do.
