Which Eclipse would you buy?

?

I only really want to pay for one of these. If you we're only going to pick one, which would it be?

I'm putting this in the Great Lakes thread because I only want opinions on the variants that are available here.

    EC12 was fantastic last year.

I went for EC 12, though I just bought 6 of the varieties. I had only had last years EC 12 and had high opinions as well. This year, with some budget relaxation, I rocked more than my usual pull.

EC 12 and 18 are really the only ones worth drinking IMO. These beers are overpriced by at least $15.

Loved EC12 and 18 last year. In a side by side, I thought they blew everything else away.

They're all good. Got one of each this year. That being said EC12 is pretty special

I agree that both EC12 and EC18 are the best.....but EC18 was much, much better.

I had EC 18 at ORF release, and it was heavenly. Im told EC 12 is even better.

EC 18 is the best I have had. I have to be honest though, it's the most over priced beer I have ever encountered. I really don't think it's worth the price.

More overpriced than 3 Floyd's? Not IMO..

Had the pleasure of trying EC 12, EC 18, Evan Williams and Four Roses at Darkness Day this year. Everyone that tasted them with me preferred EC 12 to 18. I liked Four Roses 2nd best.

I also don't believe 50/50 adds soy sauce to their beers...

None. Don't bother. Seriously. Go buy another 4-pack of 2012 BCBS and you will thank me later.

Fair point. I don't drink DL though, not my cup of tea. Eclipse is a great beer, but still not worth the price. DL is a crappy beer, and also not worth the price.

None, save your money for bcbs. Two eclipse for $60+, or eight+ bcbs for $45. Not a hard decision.

Smoother, better integrated. Of the very few beers in the world worth more than $1/oz, EC18 is one of them IMO. EC12 is also excellent, but not quite as good. The nose on the 18 is absolutely ridiculous. Can't wait to try EC20!
