Which gets more crowded on a Sat night, Mekong or the Answer?

    Thinking of going to Mekong and the Answer Saturday. One for lunch and one for dinner. Which would likely have the least wait time in terms of getting a seat on a Saturday night around 7:30pm?

    Also, do either have restrictions on admitting children? I've only ever been to Mekong around lunch time and have never been to the Answer.

    You shouldn't have trouble at either, but The Answer is bigger. I went 2 weeks ago on a Saturday at about 9, and The Answer was fairly empty. We drank a beer there and walked next door to Mekong and sat down at the bar. Its possible that all the bar seats at Mekong will be taken, but I can't imagine that you wouldn't get a a seat at The Answer. They are in a part of town that just doesn't draw a big crowd. I personally think it was a mistake to put The Answer right next to Mekong, but I guess it makes it easier to run.

    You can definitely bring your kids to Mekong, and I would say probably at The Answer but I don't know for sure.

    Kids are fine at either but the Answer is more of a bar atmosphere.

    I've been to Answer 4-5 times now and have never seen more than 25-30 people there at one time- even on a Friday during "happy hour". The place is so open that even if there is a crowd it probably won't seem like it.

    Mekong seems to have a solid crowd all the time, but you shouldn't have a tough time getting a seat. Service there is usually pretty quick too.

    Mekong has been packed out every time I've been there, weekend or not. Answer was not crowded at all the one time I went (on a Saturday night).

    Thanks for the feedback folks.

    Went to Mekong for lunch and the Answer for dinner. All three of us loved both. No problem with crowding. I agree that it's a shame they are located together. And a shame the Answer seemed so empty....
