I'm heading through hudson and plan on stopping at "The Nova" for some New Glarus Brews. I have decided to purchase one bottle of either Belgian Red or Raspberry Tart. Anyone have a preference?

Why not both? I like both, but would give the edge to Belgian Red. Fantastic beer!

IMO, Dan Carey's best work would be the fruit beers. They are world class.

both! If this helps, belgian red is more wine-like and goes awesome with meat. The Rasp tart is more like a fruity, fizzy winecooler yet still awesome. More like an after-dinner palate cleanser...

I would go with a bottle of Red and Raz Tart, along with some IIPA. I prefer that Tart which is just that tart, where the Red is sweeter but still delicious.

Do you like cherries? If so, no question...

    +1 for the Wisc. Red.

Both are rediculously good. I really like raspberries, so if I had to choose a favourite it would be Raspberry Tart. Belgian Red is a touch sweeter. Particularly good for an after dinner desert beer, but great on its own as well.

Like most are saying, grab one of each, especially if you haven't had them before.

Well...... After much indecision, I left with both Wisconsin Red, Raspberry Tart and the IIPA. Life is short, I want to try em all. The guy at the place I stopped told me "I have cases and cases of the fruity stuff, should be around all summer" Those along with a few Furious I had from last week should make for a nice friday night. Tomorrow I'm heading to Lift Bridge for their tour and taproom. Even better Saturday!

Since you have bought them I will just add my opinion. I think Belgian Red is the better beer, but just barely.

2 x each of the 750s... and then you should be good to go until July .

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing that goes better with a steak than these these two. If I had to choose one, I'd go with Belgian Red. But I always bring 'em both home. You made a good choice.

I cant figure out how to access my old reviews or I'd tell you which one I liked better and why.
I also liked moon man fairly well. Their newer fresh hop ipa is definitely skippable.
Once a week I work in St. Croix falls and make it a point to stop at the grocery store up there to get my WI beer fix.

Picked up in Milwaukee last weekend for $9.99

The red wax dipped bottle was poured into a snifter, semi rigorous pour produces about a half inch light pink fizzy head.
Quickly dissipating to leaves a small collar that slowly goes away.
Color on the beer is a glowing transparent ruby red.
Aroma is stunning, a tart bursting of juicy raspberries.
Juicy sweet delicious fresh picked berries, very distant grassy hops mixing with a touch of grains, but mostly overcome by berries.
Taste is pretty much the sa,e with more tartness from the fruit, a kiss of wood. finishing with mild bittering tart berries and drying out. Feel is crisp and clean and just a small amount of slick feel through the swallow. I'm guessing this is saliva as my mouth is watering as I drink this.

The Gummy Bears cartoon, meets beer on this one.
