So, my state JUST got Ballast Point approved for distribution. If I go to Mass, they have stuff I can't get at home, so I'm curious, if I was to get on a plane, where could I got that has the most selections of beers from throughout the US? Do any of the states have no limits to what a beer shop can get and sell?

California... but it helps that a huge amount of breweries are located there as well.

Individual cities do. Philadelphia, Chicago, and DC, plus either San Diego or San Francisco. Illinois has the most variety according to SeekABrew, but I don't know how up to date that information is.

Philadelphia gets some great distro, California, Oregon, North Carolina ,and Washington all have a ton of their own stuff, as well as good distro, Chicago/Illinois get solid distribution.

Not Maryland, unless you consider Max's a beer store.

Chicago gets better distro than the actual breweries that are in Illinois- Surly, FFF, Perennial, Prarie, Firestone all send their rare stuff here and many more..

I'm always content with Ohio's distribution. Fat Head's, Jackie O's, 3 Floyds, The Bruery, Ballast Point, Clown Shoes, Stone, Revolution, Mad Tree, Columbus, and Boulevard - just off the top of my head.

I feel like New York is pretty solid when it comes to distribution and in-state breweries. There are a few glaring examples of stuff we don't get, but the last couple of years have really shored it up, IMHO.
