Wierd question, very vauge, bc of small local breweries, obviously there are a bunch. On a large scale, it would be hard to know there are none left

Probably regional breweries that have only a few releases per year on a small scale would be all gone.

I can think of a few from Kane in NJ
    Sea Change (Brett Pale Ale)
    Apiary (Brett Saison)

Very limited runs of each, a few years ago.

If you look at the White Whale list (here), I think there are bottles of pretty much every one of those still around. How many bottles, and how hard they are to get, is another question.

Every time I drink a rare-ish bottle I think, "one less of these in the world". Because of extensive cellars and trading it's hard to know if a beer is gone. Not all beer collectors are on this site and post what they drink online. The only way to truly know is if a brewery released a limited number of bottles for on site consumption only. Even then no way to know if the brewery itself is holding back stock. Back in July Parabola '14 was "sold out" at the brew store in Paso, and now they have bottles in a vertical set for sale. According to the labels only 3,500 cases at 6 per case are even made of those.

To know for sure you gotta "friend" everyone on untappd and start counting.

So in other words, are we trying to crowd-source a "beer endangered species list" and identify those that are extinct?

Not extinct yet. I still have three bottles (from 2010 and 2012), though soon to be two.

I'd bet that there is still at least one bottle of just about any 'whale' you can think of.

It doesn't help that when the trading boom hit a few years ago less and less people started listing their actual Gots.

The last bottle of Anchorage's Experiment got drank yesterday afternoon. This beer was only available at festivals and the tap room. The head brewer/owner was a bit nostalgic but said a 2nd batch is already in the foudres.

Looking at the white whales list, I expect midnight sun sloth to reappear in late 2015. It went into barrels a few months back...

I've personally confirmed that Rodenbach Alexander is no longer available at De Heeren van Liedekercke. Nor is it available anywhere in Pasadena.

It's all in private cellars now, methinks.
