Big fan of the Jester King stuff I've had so far, and this sounds delicious. I'd like to get my hands on some, though I'm completely oblivious to the availability/rarity/distro of Jester King, especially this particular beer.

Any insight on what kinds of beers would reel this in would be great. Thank you.

Jester King now has some limited distro outside of Texas, but I dont think they were doing much outside the state when that beer came out.

Whiskey was a 1-time beer, brewed as part of a collaboration series with Mikkeller. Its not on the shelves any more (sold out FAST) , but can still be traded for - I just traded my last one away within the last few months (for a Flanders Fred, if that helps).

Best bet is to hit up TX folks, but I think its been traded around enough to be available.

It was pretty limited as Kmello already said but plenty should still be out there. I traded one back in September as part of a trade that revolved around a 4-pk of bcbs. I would say offer up a similiar limited BA stout or sour and you should get it done.

They have been distributing out of state since the beginning. Chicago was the 1st city to sell Jester King in bottles. (before even Austin) However, I do not believe the Rodeo series was distributed out of Texas.

100 cases is what JK said about quantity. It was a wild goose chase for sure. 1200 bottles split between 4 large metropolitan areas doesn't go far.

I'd say it'd probably trade pretty evenly with a Cherry Rye or similar "caliber" of beer.

I traded one last year as part of a deal to land some BCBCS last year, but not 1:1. It might be tougher to pull now as everyone I know that has one (including myself) is holding it for a special occasion.

If you can't land one, I'd recommend getting a Weasel Rodeo. Not on the same level, but has aged nicely and was much easier to find. I liked Beer Geek Rodeo a bit more, but that wasn't easy to track down either.

I've been meaning to track down a Beer Geek Rodeo. Know anyone who still has one?

I brought my last bottle to Ananke Day down in San Antonio last weekend and it was niiiice, abiet overcarbed (as my shirt would tell you). Wasn't a fan of the Weasel Rodeo myself (both my bottles were completely flat). Some parts of TX actually still have Weasel on the shelf (last I heard, there were still bottles in San Antonio).

Still got 1 Whiskey Rodeo... but that's probably going to go to my tasting group next big event we have around town. THAT was a DIFFICULT bottle to catch. I only got 2... and I live in Austin!

Be warned... I had a 2oz taste of it a few weekends ago during a bottle share and the coffee has faded a lot. Still some chile bite and vanilla notes to it though.
