Has anyone ever brewed this beer, and if so, what did you think of it?? I ordered it from Northern Brewer and I was thinking of adding some cocoa nibs, coffee beans, vanilla beans and possibly some oak cubes. Do you think thats too many flavors to be mixing?? Would it come out ok?? I was thinking Primary for 3 weeks, then transfer to the secondary for another 3 over the cubes and other ingredients. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Oh, and its a 5 gallon extract kit...

I see a bunch of users here have brewed this recipe so hopefully they'll chime in. You can glean some info here: http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...rewers-to-calm-my-nerves.288141/#post-3610679

I have not brewed this recipe so I can't comment on the flavor questions you pose. Since this kit shows an estimated OG of 1.054 I would let this beer sit in primary until it's reached terminal gravity and bottle once the gravity is stable for 3-4 days. No need to expose this beer to the additional risk of contamination by switching buckets/carboys. Of course that's my personal opinion, so brew as you wish.

In general I would urge restraint on coffee/cacao/oak if you are a new brewer. Having a whole pile of different flavors will make it more difficult to pinpoint flaws in your process.
