Does anyone have a recipe for a white IPA? Ideally it would resemble the 2010 boulevard smokestack collaboration #2.

Is this some sort of wheated IPA?

Sam Adams just put one out too. They say its a mix between a Belgian White and an American IPA, so yes, wheat. That's more or less what Boulevard says as well.

From Boulevard's site about collaboration #2:
There are the ingredients right there for you OP. Sorry I don't have a recipe for you... White beer malt ratios with IPA hop ratios?

Pretty sure it's more than just wheat additions. Last one I had was fermented out with witbier yeast.

    Thanks for the information epk.
I'm not sure why it didn't occur to me check the Boulevard site but I am a newbie to the home brewing (less than 2 years).

Also if anyone is interested, Northern Brewer appears to have a kit and recipe for "Permafrost White IPA" which appears to be very similar to Boulevard's ingredient list.

I think I'm going to try a 1 gallon batch of this and see what happens.

I'll probably use the NB recipe for proportions and the Blvd site for ingredients.

    Thanks, again.

Agreed. Using American Ale yeast isn't going to cut it.

That NB recipe seems like the right direction.

Just email them & ask for the recipe. They freely give it out. They won't divulge the yeast strain as it is proprietary but hey, can't have it all. My buddy & I brewed a Tank 7 clone. If you're experienced, they'll even give you the water specs too. The person that handles these types of inquires is a woman (can't remember her name but have met her several times) & they are glad to do it. Ask & ye shall receive.

The white zone is for loading and unloading only. If you're going to load, or if you're going to unload, you go to the white zone. It's a way of life. :sunglasses:

Looking to brew a White IPA this weekend. Curious how the previous posters' batches turned out. Care to share results? A recipe? I've only brewed twice before, but never on my own. Heading to the brew supply store tomorrow. The Collaboration #2 looks great, ingredients wise. Has anyone formulated a recipe? Thanks everyone!
