I was pondering.... how small could a homebrewer make a working brew system? A cup? A teaspoon? Anyone care to reveal the world's tiniest homebrew setup?

I make 1L batches all the time, In fact I've got one on the stir plate right now. :astonished:

Seriously though, anything under 5 gallons is a waste of time IMO.

One gallon seems to be the smallest thing going from what I've seen. If I brew anything smaller than 18 gallons I feel its a border line waste of time.

I have a one drop beer system design but the "evolution" of of homebrew and homebrewers is a solid prof of five gallons and up setting. I have started with AG one gallon kit, after learning something now I try to get the most out of my resources, equipment and any investment. Like JohnSnowNW claime

Yes but think of the fame! Maybe 2 minutes on Howard Stern or Rush Limbaugh!

I usually brew 3 to 3.5 gallons. Odd size, but I am limited by my setup - a 5-gallon kettle. Up-sizing to 5-gallons is in the plans, but new kettle, mash tun and immersion chiller will take time to acquire.

A few years back someone posted a link to a guy who used his automated coffee maker to make beer as a proof of concept. I don't recall specific details but I bet it could be googled.

    usually 3 gallons here.
I *like* all this work. It's the 4th and 5th gallon I tire of.

    cheers--

I've often wanted to do more brews, and experiment more, but honestly at 5 gallons I don't think I'd want to make much less.. Too much work and time to drag it all out for a mere gallon or so of something.
