Have a 55 gal barrel I did a basic sour blonde in. It turned out really nice. I have since mixed it with different kinds of fruits and the rest is in kegs. It is awesome to have enough sour beer that I can always have it on tap. The barrel is currently filled water awaiting the time when I can brew that much more.

Yep sure is. Wound up not being a clone, more just inspired. I actually just popped one up just now.
For over 16% it drinks crazy good. Tastes around 12% or less. The brandy is going very well with the sweetness. Has that King Henry roastiness. I call it a success. Could always improve though.

Where in the U.S. have you guys been able to source barrels wine or Liquor? Are you getting them direct from the Distillers/Winery? I am looking for some used (White or Red wine, Bourbon, Whiskey) 3/5 gallon ones.

Wow, I'm surprised at how many barrels people have going out there. I'm an oak chunk guy myself.

Great to hear how many people have barrels going out there. Can't wait to get to the point that I can barrel age. Just started brewing, but as part of the California wine industry, I already have some great contacts for red and white wine barrels.
