I'm gonna move the IPA from the primary to the keg and start the dry hopping. I'll probably push my luck and try to pitch on another half cake of the wyeast 1217, but this time probably do a Mosaic and Centennial rye pale on it. The yeast would be about a month old, and have gone through 3 batches.

That, or I'll get some sort of lager going.. short on ideas and recipes for that, so I'll scour tonight and see what sounds good, so I can hit the store and mill tomorrow afternoon.

I'm going to do a berliner, and I'm short on ideas of what to brew, so I'll probably brew the APA Stout here as well.

Is that meaning you gonna do a starter for the half cake wyeast 1217 ? or relay push your luck.

Cold, lazy and almost out of beer... I brewed my first extract beer in over three years tonight.
Not going to lie, I enjoyed the relaxed process. Smoked a cigar, pitched and cleaned up in a little over two hours.

    6 Pounds DME
    .5 pound Cara 45
    .5 pounds sugar

    Bittered with Columbus @ 60
2oz Galaxy FO stand @180 and @140 (30 min total time)
Dry Hop w/ 2 oz Galaxy ( 1 in primary and 1 in keg)

    Cheers!

No, I used the wyeast 1217 yeast in a blonde about 2.5 or 3 weeks ago. I kegged the beer, pulled about half of the cake from the bottom that was clean as a whistle. Then pitched an IPA right on top of that cake left in the bucket and let it ride.

The cake of 1217 took the 1.060 IPA to 1.009 in 3 days. I'm going to see what the yeast look like, wash it a bit, and pitch it back into a DIPA that I might brew this weekend.

I'm pushing my luck, in that I might even say to hell with washing the yeast, and toss the DIPA on top of the cake again, and see what happens. Never got that long without fresh yeast.

So I decided that I need to use up some hops from last year, and some that I bought this year.

I've got a Berliner that I'm gonna do tomorrow night. Then Saturday I'm gonna brew the APA Stout, and hopefully Sunday, I'll do a big DIPA and get at 100 IBU's. Hopshot involved.

Gonna play around with some Apollo, Columbus, Simcoe, Amarillo in the boil I think. Maybe something like a Heady Topper.

Very exciting weekend coming up indeed! FINALLY brewing 2 SMaSH beers(which I mentioned a couple weeks ago) on my new all grain setup. One on Saturday one on Sunday. Both Maris Otter and Mosaic. Really simple, only difference is one is using English and one is using American yeast.

Moving my schedule up a week to take advantage of the possible 60 degree weather. Brewing a Golden Sour Ale with 2nd generation ECY Bug County. The yeast smelled great when I made the starter earlier this week so I have high hopes.

Also brewing a Hopbursted IPA similar to APA IPA with different hops. Probably Amarillo, Simcoe, Citra and Columbus. Just got some feedback from another local homebrewer I gave an APA IPA to last month. They said it was one of the best IPAs they have had and asked for the recipe. I could only take partial credit the rest goes to Vikeman and all of us who voted on the recipe.
