We actually went straight to all grain. Never brewed extract. Our first three were good. Obviously some mistakes here and there that were fixed along the way but this is our first stout in general.

I don't think you will have a problem. Beer can be pretty forgiving, I've found, as long as you hop the hell out of it :astonished:, don't contaminate it, and don't ferment too warm.

My first three all grain batches were all drinkable! My first was a maris otter willamette smash, and it came out far maltier than I had hoped, but was plenty bitter enough and was in fact quite drinkable. My second was an English IPA and I thought it was too astringent, but it was again drinkable. My third was an American stout, amply hopped, dry hopped; the hops came out perfect and the whole thing was damn delicious!

My fourth batch is an American Amber with sweet orange peel and fuggles leaf hops, done on new equipment. I have high hopes. :sunglasses:

I suspect that if you're having success, you will continue to do so. Although to be certain you'll probably have to send me a sampler pack. :grinning:

An it's a beautiful thing when that happens, isn't it! Good job!!
