not sure if it would count toward this weekend's thread or the next, but I have a random day off work and am brewing this Wednesday. A gluten free beer for my mother-in-law. Not particularly excited about it, but any opportunity to brew is a great opportunity!!

Then what makes this a saison instead of an American Wheat (if that)? And why EC-1118?

Quite nice! I drank my hydrometer sample. Out of curiosity I'll crack a bottle at around six weeks but will not start consuming this batch for nine months. Hopfully this batch will last a couple years if I can keep my hands out of it!

OG ended up almost spot on: 1.081
My only changes were to nix the chocolate malt and bump up the 2-row to compensate. I also decided to add the Falconer's Flight at 10 min and save the Summit for dry-hopping if I think it necessary.

This was my first time using the iBrewMaster app for iPhone. Well worth the $10 investment! However, I have heard bad things about the non-mobile version--very buggy, so I would avoid that.
1 week in the primary, 3 in the secondary, 3-6 weeks in bottles.

Brewing a heavier scotch ale, with some rye added in... eventually gonna soak it on some templeton rye infused wood chips.

Also probably doing a RIS with some madagascar vanilla beans and some heaven hill soaked chips.

Iffff we have time, we're gonna do a batch of my buddy's incredible pale ale with lemon and fresh ginger. Shit is incredible.
