Just wondering if anyone re-caps their bombers to save carbonation/save the beer for later. I see it as being able to have 2-3 different bombers without having to waste them. I just re-capped an Enjoy By, Boulder 35th Anniversary and Big Eye.

No, I finish my beer before moving on to the next.

I have a half dozen of those "soda keeper" caps. Like a plug with a lever on top. You flip down the lever to expand the plug and seal the bottle. I've kept half full bombers fizzy for a week.

It's only 22oz. If I'm not in the mood to drink at least two beers, then I'm not going to open it.

I usually don't open unless I plan on drinking but recently I feel asleep on the couch after is only poured about 6 oz out and my wife capped it (stone IRS). Next night about 20 hours later I was shocked it still had great carbonation. I imagine if less left in the bottle it would not have performed as well. I also would never do it intentionally.

If all I have are bombers at the time and the beer is high abv, I'll cap it. I usually do this on a work night. I wake up at 3:30 so I can't get too lit.

I used to always have half drunken bombers in fridge but not so much now. A big abv beer and such though may warrant saving for later though in which case I just use a wine saver type device or just take some plastic wrap and stretch over hole before recapping.

I make sure I drink all my 750s in one sitting. There's no way a bomber lasts me more than 2 hours or so. However, I did grab a really cool bottle stopper from Ommegang last year. Unfortunately the cork snapped in half and I had to throw it away.

A friend suggested using the Oxo stoppers and they work pretty well for short durations, at least. I've split a bomber across lunch and dinner a few times and the carbonation is reasonable at the time of the second pour.

I usually go one setting on a moderate ABV bomber, or try to have some people to help if I am cracking one.

Thankfully there are two of us, and rarely does a bomber go incompletely unattended.

I always used to finish bombers no matter what, but that just wasn't really working with the rest of my life, so I've started just drinking half a bomber, popping in a wine cork, and finishing it the next night, at least for high ABV stuff. Keeps perfectly fine for one night this way (bearing in mind, these tend to be stouts/barleywines/etc that don't suffer too dramatically if a bit of carb is lost).

I rarely want to drink a bomber of anything. Can't stand the 22oz bottles... I wonder if this is any better than just not capping it? If you pry off a cap carefully you can snap it back on, maybe not with a perfect seal of course, but possibly better than nothing

Never recapped a bomber, but I'm young. Of the mentality that I don't open a large format bottle unless I'm ready to finish it.

I homebrew and bottle my beer so I've always got a few pounds of new caps hanging around. If for some reason I can't finish s bomber I'll just grab my capping tool and pop one on. If it was corked, I will make sure I'm able to finish it.

I'll pour some in a glass, re-cap it, put it back in the fridge, and finish the rest once I finish my first serving. I don't re-cap it and store it for a few days. I always finish a bomber in one sitting.
