Who's all Corking??

    i've used both. I have heard that wine people in the know prefer the synthetic and they are proven to be "better", but the public wants traditional cork. maybe like beer people don't like cans.

    personally I don't see a difference. they both keep liquid in and bugs out.

    Screw caps are better too, they say. I will confess to a strong bias towards natural cork for presentation reasons. The short cellar rating on some of the easier to find ones scares me a bit though.

    Negative. I guess I'm a traditionalist, real cork just seems pleasing to me. Also, researchers state that the process to create synthetic bottle stoppers releases 10 times the amount of CO2 than cork, and aluminum stoppers release 26 times more. So my contribution to save the planet is by drinking more beer with real cork stoppers. Save the synthetics for where it will do the most good: motor oil and big hooters . . . :wink:
