Just picked up the grain to brew a Dunkelweizen. Think I am going to just do a partial with some chocolate and munich. I have done this all grain before, the decoction mash is kind of a pain. Gonna have snow here, I want to be in and out of garage ASAP!

Quick boil and hop to 3 IBUs or so on the Berliner Weiss and then into the fermenter with some US-05.

Didn't think my ingredients would be here on time, but it looks like I'll have them by tomorrow afternoon - just enough time to make up a starter and brew my Ruination clone batch on Sunday night. It's gonna be my first BIAB, wish me luck.

Brewing a Sip of Sunshine clone on Sunday, might throw in some Nelson Sauvin at hop stand. So technically an altered clone.

No brewing, but I just kegged a Cz Pils (seems like a winner!) and will hopefully get my Munich Helles kegged also. First I need to clean and sanitize a couple more kegs. Also working up an Am. Brown recipe. Cheers!

Just got done bottling a Saison Brett that I brewed a year ago and spent the last 6 months sitting on 5 pounds of raspberries. The sample tasted awesome! We'll see in a few months if I got the priming sugar correct.

Planning my first BIAB tomorrow--a Stone IPA clone. Things are escalating after three extract brews. Hoping my stove can handle the 10g pot.

Tested the limits of my boil kettle today with 15 gallons of a Golden Promise/Fuggles SMaSH. 4.2% ABV. 16 IBUs. Split between three different yeasts. One got WLP004. Another got Saccharomyces Eubayanus. The last got a culture built up for RR Sanctification dregs. Lost my stir bar when I pitched the yeast from the flask. Hate when that happens.

Boiled the Berliner for 20 minutes, first time boiling on the electric stove in our new house, I was pleasantly surprised at being able to get a relatively quick rolling boil. I won't make a habit out of boiling indoors, but nice to know so have the option. Cooled and pitched US-05. I did accidently evaporate my entire pot of boiled water for rehydrating. Time was tight so I pitched directly into my he wort, hope that doesn't bite me due to the low PH.

I did 12 gallons of a rye saison, split between stepped up DuPont dregs, stepped up Wicked Weed Bretticent dregs, and Omega Lab's Saisonstein Monster. Planning on bottling half of each with Orval dregs just to see what happens.

Also bottled the basic saison I did a month ago, half the batch got Orval dregs. It was weird bottling, I realized I had not bottled anything in the last couple of years. Thankfully, it is like riding a bike and it all came back

A strong magnet to hold the stir bar when pitching will solve this problem.

Brewed my Ruination clone last night and things went more-or-less OK, except that I misread my thermometer and the mash temp wound up dropping more than I thought it did. This was my first all-grain brew, and while it was a little on the long side, it wasn't that hard! One thing that surprised me was the appearance of the wort, it was much cloudier than any of the extract beers I have done. By this morning there was a huge layer of trub at the bottom of my carboy, something tells me I'll be leaving at least a half-gallon behind when it comes time to bottle.
