brewing my smoked magik, a brown imperial with smoked malts in early celibration of my first grand child!
No brewing for me... I've got about 6 cases of home brew that need consuming first. @GormBrewhouse you should save one of those imperial browns until your first grand child is old enough to appreciate it!
Brewed up a Berliner and a Brett Saison this weekend, gotta do the second dry hop of a Heady clone today and keg it around Friday, gonna secondary the Imperial Chocolate Pumpkin Stout today and should be brewing up a Red IPA with all Simcoe at some point this week. Will possibly brew up an El Dorado Pale Ale this week>weekend as well. Gotta bottle a different Berliner and dry hop an all Equinox Wild DIPA (wlp 644) too. I'm trying to put the kettle down long enough to finish the edits for my 4th guidebook to local SC hiking/bouldering/rock climbing (hoping to publish within a week or 2), but its not easy!
No brewing for me this weekend. Our club is doing a weekend in Bend and doing a crawl to all the spots there.
Didn't brew, but I did rack a belgian sour blonde onto blackberries and figs. After a few weeks it will also get Chardonnay soaked oak spirals.
didn't get to brew the Catty APA last weekend as the stars were out of alignment, so have the starter in the fridge and everything ready to go for a brew either Thursday night or Saturday morning. May try to brew my dubbel split 4 ways with 4 yeasts on Sunday too...if it's a washout of a weekend.
We originally had it set up to go out there but something went haywire with it and now we aren't doing Ale Apothecary anymore. The group is starting earlier than I am since I don't have Friday off, hitting Deschutes and Goodlife, then I will join for the rest of the time at Boneyard, Worthy, Crux, Bend, Silvermoon, and maybe some others. I plan to head to Bond St for sure, and possibly skip out on McMenamins as I have never cared for their beer nor food.
A plain old Bitter. But I'm brewing on the 5th, one day after the 6 day week specified in the thread title.
Can we make this a monthly who's brewing thread instead of weekly? These dates confuse me and generally make me angry. @jbakajust1
I'm not sure we can get a "this month" thread to work, but I agree something needs to change. I have seen a huge drift in the past few months away from "this weekend" to "this week", and then the "this week" seemed to bounce all over the place. The original "this week" threads were Friday to Thursday, then someone ignored an existing thread that encompassed the day they were going to brew and posted a "this week starts on Monday" thread in conjunction with the already running F-Th thread. Then another person started another random one. I do agree we need to return to a format that is consistent and easy to track.
The problem with "this weekend" is people actually brew on days that aren't the weekend. "This week" has arbitrary dates because people have a different concept of what the beginning and ending of the week are. "This month" should be easy to follow. October is right around the corner. Why not try it for October? I can't imagine what could possibly go wrong with a monthly brewing thread. The monthly homebrew drinking thread works fine. Anyone posting in the October thread in November should be scolded!
I'm willing to give it a go for October and see how it goes. FWIW I did find the shift in the "this week" thread that made the switch from pre-weekend through the week to end of weekend thru the following. We had been on Friday-Thursday for quite awhile, but then there was a random "Holiday Weekend" thread starter followed by a thread for the week immediately following the long weekend, and all have remained on that scheme since.
Nope, not at all. There was a shift in the timing of the threads about 4 weeks ago, and this one followed in line with the timing of the others as normal. Not an issue. I will be closing this thread out and changing the title some to move us to the October thread. Thanks for sharing and continue to do so. Cheers.
