I'm brewing an ESB. I was supposed to be using some 2014 EKG leaf, but 1/2lb of '13 pellets just arrived at my doorstep instead. So there goes that...

    How about everyone else?

Just bottling a 2.7% dark mild for me. Gravity samples have tasted pretty good so far; I'm excited to see how it pans out.

My Xmas beer, usually given away as gifts: Dark Pumpkin Saison with sub threshold chocolate, nutmeg and cinnamon. I'll blend it with an identical batch I brewed last year that I soured (it subsequently became too sour).

No brewing for me. Need to check the gravity and flavor on my "Lambic" I brewed last weekend. Pitched a big starter of dregs I built up from my original brew of this beer 3 years ago, active fermentation at 48 hours, krausen fell after another 48. The original version had a super fast ferment too, but not that fast. Keeping it warm to ensure it actually finishes out. Racking it to a small wine barrel next weekend, then taking the slurry to a local brewery in a couple weeks to do a full batch to see barrels.

Bottling up some Festbier, cleaning kegs, making some Invert #1 and #2 this weekend, bumping up some starters, and possibly making some agar plates to try to capture and isolate some very old yeast.

No brewing, but an action packed weekend nonetheless.

Just added my second dose of citra to my Kern River Citra Double clone. Just over a week out until kegging and it's already smelling/tasting fantastic! Can't wait.

Interesting @Naugled...I just pulled some old yeast out of the fridge that had been long neglected, Wyeast 1275, White Lab San Fran Lager, ECY Old Newark Beer & Old Newark Ale, Conan and finally 3 strains of Brett I just received (8 different strains in total)...made some baby starters with them on Wednesday evening. Some of them were dated all the way back to 2010...still no real activity yet, but the Brett strains are showing some color change indicated some life. I'll give them 7 days before giving up on them.
Was hoping to use the Conan for my Everett clone I'm brewing this weekend, but will probably be going with Nottingham if there is no sign of growth by tonight.

I've got a Sour Cherry Porter with Cocoa Nibs to bottle. I'm really excited for that one.

I also threw together a recipe for a Black Rye Pale Ale with Columbus and Centennial hops. It will be my sixth total batch. I'm really enjoying trying a new 1 gallon recipe every Saturday morning.

Just put the lid on my Rauchbier . . . should be ready by Christmas. Bottled a Saison w/Brett, expect to be drinking it by Easter. Feel like I'm watching my life go by in slow motion . . . maybe go watch some snails race for excitement.

Co-Brewed up 20 gallons of a Chouffe Houblon Dobbelen Ipa Tripel today. On sunday we are going to bottle 20 gallons of the same beer that was brewed 4 weeks ago. All of sundays beer belongs to a friend of mine who had the run of the "brewery" a month ago.

    Finally!

Going to get the kettles warm this weekend. Got a bunch of new gear and gadgets showing up, and have some grain on hand.

Got an american brown ale, borderline porter to brew first thing in the morning, going to let it ferment out, and then run it through my 3rd use bourbon barrel for a couple weeks. Should be a tasty fall treat, and still around by Thanksgiving. Going to go for a light oak/bourbon kiss on it. Mashing higher for the barrel aging.

Will attemp to get another in saturday afternoon/evening, a Tart of Darkness clone. Sour Stout.. Get that brewed up, pitch some Yeast Bay Melange, and Tart of Darkness, and Wicked weed Black Angel dregs, let it roll for a year atleast.

Conan was stepped up this week, so I've got a 1.5L starter crashing in the fridge for an IPA on Sunday. Plan to bitter with extract and then do some late hops like apollo and amarillo, and then centennial and a pinch of citra going through the hopback during the whirlpool. Probably simcoe in the hopback while I pump to the fermenter. Dry hop with Simcoe and Centennial before kegging.

Then, probably get a really low OG saison grist going. Bitter it with some willamette or saaz and pitch some Yeast Bay Sour Farmhouse along side some Wicked Weed Malice dregs. See how it comes out, maybe use it to blend into a pretty large, sour, and mega funky saison I have aging that is a bit bigger than I cared to have.

That, or do a simple blonde/pale or something like that to get something fresh on tap real quick. Wildcard!

So..4 brews planned. Going to get the fermenters and the kegs filled back up mostly.

I would like to brew Saturday night Oct. 4th. Finally break into my 2 bags of 2row and munich 1, and use some 1lb bags of specialty grains I've not used before or not used in a few. I still got the carahell, black malt, and honey malt. Would like to do an all Simcoe IPA. I still do not want to do 10 gallon batches for some time. Would rather do 5 gallon recipes. A nice colorful ipa would work! << recipe formulation going on in my head that has been forming. Oh. Using the neutral s05 yeastie packs.

No brewing for me. I bottled an English Barleywine yesterday after it sat on bourbon and French oak spirals for 3 weeks. The sample I tasted was just the right amount of bourbon presence, up front but not overpowering or burning. I'll let the bottles sit for at least 3 months before I try it. Tomorrow I'm bottling a brown ale too. It may turn into a fall seasonal for me if it turns out as hoped.

Brewing a Cascadian Dark Ale. Just tapped 2 kegs last night that were awesome! First one was my first ever pumpkin ale...called it The Headless Horseman's Pumpkin Ale (10%) and second one was a SMaSH IPA with Vienna and Galaxy called Far, Far Away (5.5%).
