So, what's everybody up to this weekend?

With any luck, I'll be finishing up my keezer, buying more kegs, and brewing an amber ale. Should be fun.

I'm gonna trim my keg lines down to 10ft, and get it all dialed in.

Probably try and keg my blonde ale, and hopefully my Zombie Dust I brewed last weekend. I have them coming to room temp from the fermentation chamber now to get my second reading. I have an old DIPA on tap I don't want anymore, and the Blonde keg kicked while I was brewing the replacement blonde.

Probably gonna brew a pilsner tomorrow if I don't feel like being lazy...

Might sneak a taste of the PVW Russian Imperial Stout I have sitting aging.

I'm kind of jaded about how much money I'll spend on bev and gas lines this month. It'll be at least $65.

Bottling my big brown and brewing a honey wheat, 5lbs pils, 3.5 lbs red wheat malt, 2lbs Colorado wildflower honey and an oz of Chinook and some kolsch yeast. Should be good for the hot summer months ahead.

Going to brew a 10 gallon batch of Wit with the WL Platinum Wit II strain. Keeping it simple with coriander and orange peel only.

I just recently finished my build.. I started, and stopped, and then decided last month that I may as well do it. My twins will be here in 2 months and after that I'm sure any time and probably money will go towards them, not my "wants".

So I laid it out and got a new manifold, 4 SS perlick 525's with all the SS trimmin's with them.

Then I needed some more air line and ball lock hook ups, since I was running a dual reg with 4 picnic taps.

I got the accuflex bev seal barrier line... 50ft of it, and it was plenty for 4 taps. I did 12 ft, but I just cut one to 10 and it poured faster and just as nice, maybe even a better head without trying.

Good thing is.. get enough and do it once, and it's not something you have to do for a while. The bev seal stuff is really nice.. I like it other than being so fucking rigid that I'm having to zip tie it and move it out of the way when I unload and load kegs, and the fact that it needs a heat gun to put on the barbs.

Bottled 18 gallons of an orval clone last night. After that we siphoned 6 gallons of an abbaye des rocs clone into the bottling bucket, added the sugar and stirred. I looked away for a second and then turned toward the bucket to lift it up off its little stand and all I saw was it falling on the floor. It went everywhere, into my ac duct, into the cellar, what a nightmare. I hope the orval comes out good. :slight_frown:

    So will I (any day).

I'm doing a Rye Saison tomorrow myself that I like to brew for "late summer to early fall" consumption.

    Pilsner
    Rye
    D2 candi syrup
    Styrian Goldings
    6% abv
    Nice burgandy color

Going to use WLP 568 (Saison Blend) for the first time as I think it will compliment the d2 nicely. The resulting beer will probably drink like a saison with an extra bite from the rye, but also have some belgian dubbel qualities (due to the d2 and yeast choice) rounding it out and adding complexity.

That's doubly awful. You'll smell your mistake coming from the AC in a few months. If it makes you feel any better I've propped a bottling bucket over my shoulder to tilt it. This is when the beer level drops down to the last 5 or so beers, and you need to tilt it to get every last drop. I had it over my shoulder and I was moving around with my wand. I tilted it in a way that I turned over the bucket and the rest of the beer hit me directly in the ear.

I'm not sure what your experience is with kegging, and I don't remember who posted last week about draining a full CO2 tank. (Really not pointing any fingers, just too lazy to look it up). Anyway, practice with an empty keg and some star san in the bottom. Get the spray bottle out and check the hell out of all your lines and your keg (especially the lid and release valve) for leaks. If you have a leak, you either drain your whole CO2 tank, or you drain your whole CO2 tank and have 5 gal of beer to clean up.

I am going to brew a Belgian/American Pale Ale with Apollo, Mosaic and WY3787.
I picked Apollo and Mosaic because I think they will clash wonderfully.

Brewed up a American Wheat yesterday. Citra @ FWH and then a big flameout dose of Citra and Amarillo at 180 degrees and at 140 degrees. Going to dry hop with Citra and Amarillo. BRY97 is lagging as advertised, I hit it with O2 for 45 seconds hoping it might help the lag. No such luck.

    Happy brewing all!
