So.. figured I'd start a new one..

I've got a big ol' porter planned that I'm debating what I want to do with it. Might just keep it simple and do a Chocolate Porter like I planned, and use fresh vanilla beans and cocoa nibs on it.

I'm really tempted to rack it into the secondary after a couple week, where my PVW RIS was, and use the oak in there again.

Past that.. Nothing else. Will probably keg my PVW RIS, and keg my Mosaic Blonde that would be done, and see how my Columbus/Simcoe/Amarillo/Centennial IPA is going in the fermentation chamber.

Need to get some bombers cleaned up and prepped to bottle off the keg for the RIS.

So.. Whatcha got planned this weekend for brewing?

    NICE!

This week's getting away from me. I need to get my Oktoberfest rolling. It won't be for a few more weeks. In the meantime I'm dry hopping the Averagely Perfect American IPA and getting that ready for keg. I'm also going to rack 1 1/2 gallons of cherry wine in the next week.

Should I keg a barley wine? I've only got about 20 bottles free.

doing a super simple extract ipa:

60 min columbus, then an assortment of a good amount of cascade & centennial from the 20 min onward mark. couple of safale us05 packets since i still do not have a starter kit (coming soon). going to dry hop with whole leaf of both hops.

will be my first beer that i will keg as i picked up a system off craigslist this week. really amped up to try kegging!

Check check check all your connections for leaks and play with water first. It's cheap and beer isn't.

Bottling our Graham Cracker Ale first and foremost, while the Banana Cream Ale conditions.

If I get to brew, it will be either/both of a Pumpkin Spiced Ale and/or Carrot Cake Ale.

Yeah, I like doing weird stuff.

I'd keg the barleywine, then bottle off the keg as bottles become available.

Dortmunder on Sunday. It's been a long time since I brewed this. The last batch (in the 90's) went to the NHC Finals, but didn't place.

Kegging 10 gallons of Mild (split with WLP006, WY1968) and XPA (split Conan, WLP090) destined for my co-ed baby shower.

Racking soured English Barleywine/Mild/Imperial Milk Stout blend (+D2 syrup) onto 10-15 lbs of homegrown peaches to age for 3-4 months before bottling.

nice fairly small saison planned. if I get motivated I've got some extra WL006 Bedford to use up; quick ordinary bitter?

Just did a mild with WLP006.. very nice ester profile but finished a little drier than I expected and with a little more muted malt profile compared to WY1968. Saving a couple vials for a large English Barleywine to be brewed in January.

I appreciate you posting your personal experience with this one. I'm addicted to trying strains that are new to me; sometimes to the detriment of my carefully crafted brew plan.
I've been intrigued by what I read on this strain and wondering how it would do on a big beer.

Racked a couple of beers and now want to brew up a wit, a saison with spelt, a quad and something on my Conan cake (maybe a blonde)... Gonna be a busy week, last one I get before I have to teach again!

I'm either motivated to buy a 12er of Sam Adams or I'm motivated to keg the whole thing. Maybe the latter and I'll just use that as an excuse to buy another keg.

I did a dort and it came out too sweet, I think. The yeast halted and I had to finish up with some krausen from US 05.
