With intricate Hand signals. Actually a buddy of mine has been going to a certain liquor store for a very long time and they hooked it up. They get to try a few different barrel variations of buffalo trace and choose which one they want to sell. They get the barrel to display the buffalo trace on. It's in great condition and this liquor store had kept the previous older barrels, so they displayed on an older one and we are brewing into the fresh one. We actually got three barrels this way. The other two are getting soured. Maybe a dark plum lambic into one.

    Cheers!

Filling my wine barrel with lambic wort tomorrow. Anybody in the twin cities that wants to swing in give me a shout, should be good fun.

Cool I just did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. What is your target original gravity and what hops are you planning on using?

Tomorrow I'll get my starter going for a German Hefeweizen that I'll be brewing on Tuesday. First time using a stir plate with the starter, so that should be an adventure. Will use WLP300, German pils malt, American wheat malt, and probably Tettnanger hops. Exact details yet to be worked out. Better get started...

would love to see recipe...have a lot of malted millet so was thinking about trying to toss some in the oven to see if i could get some roasted qualities into my next gf beer. Wish I could throw them into my coffee roaster but those things are so damn small...

With the excessive grain inventory we had, ended up brewing a throw together batch of hoppy imperial brown ale. Included 2 row, victory, dark munich, pale chocolate, light roasted barley, coffee malt, flaked barley, and dark wheat... As well as a nice mix of leftover hops, Columbus, Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe, Brewers Gold. Should be good, as our last similar beer was excellent. Next week will be cleanup batch #2, probably a coffee porter.

target og is around 1.095. Anywhere in there and I'll be happy with it. Its gonna be 2 row, crystal 60, special b, oats, and aromatic malt. The hops were just some bulk summits and mt. hoods that I had kickin' around the freezer.

Nice! Mine was 1.108 OG, 1.020 FG, 12% abv, used 2 row, crystal 60, munich, rye, and some maple syrup for fermentables. Centennial and chinook for the hops. Planning on conditioning it in primary for 1 month, secondary for another month, then kegging it and conditioning it for another 5-7 months. Will probably then carbonate in the keg and fill bombers with a beer gun.
