Not the weekend "technically", but I'll be brewing on the 4th...a crowd-pleasing "3 Nut Brown" Ale...brewed with crushed pecans, walnuts and cashews added to boil.
Nice....have you ever tried roasting the nuts and doing a vodka extraction that can be added to secondary? Worth a try if you haven't but by no means trying to rock your crowd pleasing boat!
Just refinished brewing the wheat portion of a raspberry wheat. Next up is bottling my RyePA sometimes this weekend.l
I'm trying to talk myself into brewing tonight or early in the AM tomorrow. I have a breakfast stout that I'm going to brew. Suppose to be hot as hell, not sure I want to sit out there and drink beer in the sun and 105 temps.
Did my brewing yesterday morning, had a batch of barleywine mashed in before 7am. It was fermenting away happily when I gave it a second dose of oxygen this morning, starting gravity was 1.112
Bottling either a Belgian Oatmeal Stout or a Dubbel tomorrow (SWMBO's choice, only have bottles for one) and will be brewing the second of four saisons planned for this summer (same malt bill, different hops and yeast) either monday or on the fourth.
Have the water heating for a Warrior / Simcoe / Amarillo IPA. 2Row, touch of munich and wheat, and a hint of Crstal 50 and 20 (Thomas Fawcett). Looking forward to dry hopping in a keg and being able to cold condition and have CO2 blanket my transfer, thinking that kegging will make the IPA that much fresher / hop forward than my previous bottled IPA / DIPA attempts. Cheers, ~Tony
Not brewing. Watching the krasuen on a Kolsch and telling it that I would appreciate it falling sometime soon.
About to get moving on a Vanilla Oatmeal Milk Stout, going for a beer in the imperial(ish) range (about 7%)... Adding vanilla beans to secondary. Sounding good already.
With any luck I'll be bottling my German Hefeweizen in a day or two. I want to do a pale ale or two in the near future, but I need to get to the LHBS and pick up a sack of 2 row and some yeast.
Just brewed 10 gallons of Hefewiezen...boy it was hot out there doing decoctions ! Just as I filled the carboys, the skies opened up...
