Just got a 4 pack for $25. Limit was two but frequent patron so he hooked me up with 4 here in the SC Spartanburg area.

Man, This thread would be a fascinating study for economists on the nuances of supply/demand

I am shocked how much some stores are selling kbs for. Both stores I bought from were 17.99 a four pack. I thanked them for being reasonable with the price. Both responded with they have a set markup on beer no matter how rare. Its nice to see. I know I would have paid an expensive price to buy it, so it was nice the stores I went to did not take advantage of me.

I walked in to a bottle shop by my house last night to get my one bottle that was on hold, but after talking with another customer for a bit about different beers he was looking at and some stuff he was brewing at home I decided to give him my bottle as some friends of mine were lucky enough to get me a couple up in GR and he had never even tasted it - not saying this to toot my horn, as I usually take as much as I can get of a great beer - but after talking to this guy for a while and seeing his gratitude after giving it to him it helped me remember what craft beer is all about.

Heard one place in my neighborhood is selling it for $12.99 a bottle. Really pissed me off as I had spent alot of time helping this shop get started in the craft world about a year ago with selection, beermenus, etc. - and now I have pretty much written them off. They don't give a crap about the customer or the beer, they're just trying to gouge the craft beer community for all they're worth. I hope places like this dry up and close down.

Yeah my most frequent store is starting to rub me the wrong way. I got my kbs elsewhere but I am curious how much they were selling it for. I find they markup all their beers about 20% or more.

I'm content just to get this on tap 2 or 3 times this year. I've got enough BCBS and Peruvian Morning (good batches), which I like better anyway. The hunt is fun, but enough is enough.

    Check this out: http://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/clt/3721137899.html

Yikes. Either his mother DOES have cancer, in which case he's going out to hoard KBS just to oversell it on Craigslist while his mother is suffering, or she doesn't have cancer, in which case the already high scumbag factor got even higher.

I just came to the realization that I got ***** last night, but was in too much of a haze to realize it at the time... I had been driving and calling around like crazy trying to get some as my main store I was only guaranteed 1 bottle, and the other store I was on a list for only got one case and I was too far up the list to get a bottle. I had called one store that was about 30min away and found out that they had 2 bottles left w/ a 1 bottle limit, so I told them I was coming w/ one other person (grabbed my sister who owed me a favor) and they held them for me. When I got their the girl told me I had to make another purchase to buy them (which I was ok with since there was other stuff I wanted). The guy who I had talked on the phone with even came over to apologize because he didn't know that was the case. Anyways, I bought 2 FV 13s and 2 Stone Daymans along with the 2 KBS. I thought the total seemed pretty high, but I knew the FV 13s were like $13 each and the Daymans were $7 each, so without doing the actual math (again I was in a haze just happy to finally score some KBS) I just paid and went on my way. Now that I have thought about it I'm pretty sure I paid $13-14 per, and that really pisses me off! Yes, it's partially my fault for not paying attention enough at the time, but that's seriously messed up gauging! And what can I do about it? Nothing! I already spent probably $10 in gas just to go out and get it, so I'm not going to spend that again just to return the stuff! Besides, if I did then I'd be left w/ 1.5 bottles (one from my bottle shop and one that my buddy picked up for us to split). Oh well, I guess I should just be happy that I have some, but I still feel like I took one in the rear and didn't realize until I was walking funny in the morning!

Same shit going on around here. Stores buying up as much craft shit as they can because they can sell it for more, trying to **** people's wallets, and then they don't know how to distribute it (or keep it refrigerated) and it ends up just SITTING there.
