I tend to think that the overlap on a Venn diagram of "Anti-Pumpkin" and "Pro-Vegetable/Fruit/Other Flavored Beer" drinkers would make for a pretty tiny sliver...

You would think so, but they are what I like to call "hypocritical."

Regardless, liking pumpkin beers is an anomaly for me. Not the type of thing I would typically go for, but for whatever reason, I enjoy them.

So-called "pumpkin" beers are actually spice beers, not fruit beers, IMO (even if they claim to contain actual pumpkin).

I'm not anti-pumpkin beers, but I think they should be released with a discounted price. That way they actually sell out and I'm not looking at overpriced imperial pumpkin stouts 8 months later in my local shops. I'm assuming anything pumpkin isn't gonna age well, just makes me think of a rotting jack-o-lantern.

Ready for a bottle or two of Barrel-Aged Pumpkinator and the plethora of great stouts to line the shelves. Love the cooler weather, but a summer sour will hold me off for now

I'm with you. I can't stand the heat!

Fall is my favorite beer season (followed closely by winter). I love Marzens, hoppy harvest beers and pumpkins (Yep, I went there, sue me).

However, as much as I am looking forward to all those brews, I hate the release schedules of most breweries. Fall beers should not be on the shelves before Labor Day weekend. I want my fall beers fresh when they are best enjoyed - when the weather starts to turn crisp. I don't want to be drinking a beer during the first week of October that is already 3 months old.

Always love my summer offerings, but I have always enjoyed the Octoberfest and fall variations as well. Heavy, high abv winter offerings have a limited appeal, but are enjoyable in moderation. But hey, really..it's all good stuff. After all, its all beer.

I've drank schlafly and pumking a year later and both have been good. I was pleasantly surprised. My area has seen some of the pumpkin ales rotting on the shelves. For whatever reason, they only hang around here until early Spring, so not as bad as I hear people complaining about in other areas.

Good point... Then again, I remember when Celebration Ale was a Christmas beer.

(Yeah, yeah, I know it's only "Fresh Hopped," but that should point to it coming out later not earlier.)

Haven't we passed the point of having seasonal beers? Between the releases being earlier to race to market and many styles that were seasonal being available year round, is there a "season" as we know it?

I don’t like pumpkin beer because it’s gross.

Fall? I thought winter beers were about to hit the shelves soon. Seriously I hate how craft beer has succumbed to competitors getting their stuff out first, that’s what created this mess. I’ll buy my fall beer in fall, not July, thanks.

At the urging of some friends, I have been trying lagers, pilsners a gose or two and even a sour to no avail. I'lI anxiously await the fall and winter, the beers are so much better. I've never had trouble drinking an "Old Raspy" on a hot summer day.
Like many of you, I have no interest in pumpkin beers, although a local brewer said he may try "aging" his Imperial Pumpkin Porter.....we'll see!

I hate these beers, and the retailers are ordering minimal amounts because they get stuck with them. They don't sell all that well here, and who'd guess a beer laced with allspice and cinnamon would bomb?

I know it's only the middle of July, but I am looking forward to the Fall beers. I love pretty much everything about the Fall and what it brings including pumpkin and Oktoberfest style beers. I also enjoy seeing these beers pop up on the shelf because then I know Fall is near. Last but not least, I started dating my wife in the Fall so it will always be my favorite season (including beer season)

Ugh it's hotter than hell here today, way too hot to think about Sept/Oct beers. To the pool with some ice cold Bud, in this heat the low taste profile is ideal as is the relatively low Abv.
