I usually try any IPA/DIPA I've never had before if I see one on a tap list. I was at the Beer Store Malvern this past week and saw 2 beers from Singlecut, "Billy Fullstack" and "Does Anybody Remember Laughter". Both were awesome. I looked up the brewery profile and most of their beers are 4.0 or higher. Then I see "Eric More Cowbell". A reference to Eric Bloom of Blue Oyster Cult, native New Yorker and cowbellist? Anybody been into them for awhile? How did I miss this brewery for so long?

Singlecut is a little secret we've been trying to keep in NYC for a while...

Perhaps they've only just gotten to you in PA, but yes, their stuff is fantastic. Look for the Bon Bon 2XTNT DIPA as well. We just got their Imperial Stout "Heavy Boots of Lead" in Buffalo. Looking forward to cracking that one.

Its one of my favorite beers for sure. It makes it way up to syracuse and it's ALWAYS fresh! I pick up 6 bottles at a time at least once a week. Fantastic beer. I've sent a few emails to the company with great response. I see them getting more recognized as time goes on!

I received a couple bottles in trade of Bon Bon 2XTNT DIPA and it's very good.

Definitely one of the better IPAs made in NY and now with some limited distro too. Price point is a bit off but I'd put them up there with Other Half, Grimm, Treehouse, Trillium and the other popular VT/NE IPAs. Hope they come to Florida!

Single cut is one of the top 3 breweries in NY. Never had a beer I didn't like from them, and the best part is their stuff is always available in distributors here, unlike other half and finback....

Glad they have expanded into PA. Singlecut does make good IPA's, with Bon Bon DIPA being the best I've had so far. I tried some of their other styles as well, but they really have a handle on the IPA's IMO. It's local here in NY and always fresh, so that's always a plus.

They've been here in Smallbany for a year or better. And in quantity too. If they ever can their offerings all bets are off.

Singlecut is the third highest-rated brewery in New York City. No secret in that!

I think their bottle size, kind of like maine brewing, keep some folks away. Plus the fact you can find their products on shelves relatively easily keeps the hype down. But they are pretty well known, well respected.

DARL is hands down my favorite. MO Shuggie on draft is top notch as well. I'd recommend a visit to the taproom, it's very nice and it's decently easy to find parking around there if you drive.

I think it some cases this has more to do with things like social media, then the beer itself. Some breweries/beers just seam to get more coverage then others, especially for releases. Recently I've been amazed when brewery "x" has a release and their beer is gone off the shelf in a day or two, or heck it may not even reach the shelf. Mean while there is equally or better stuff lasting for weeks, in similar quantities. When I first discovered Bon Bon 2x several months ago I was able to go back to the shop later in the week and pick up a few more bottles. And it's not like they had a large quantity of it. The same shop has/had Resin, Hi-Res, Gun Hill Void of Light on the shelves for quit some time (to name a few). And it's a popular well know place in the area.

I like the accessibility, hopefully it remains this way!

I will add that their price point on bottles may be a part of it. For the 2X I don't mind it too much, but something like 18-watt kind of makes me hesitant. Growler prices I have found to be fair.

The just started carrying Singlecut at Coal's in Port Chester, NY right on the CT border. Shameless plug for my favorit pre-Capitol Theatre hang out.

Saw bottles this week northshore of Boston. Half Stack and Laughter. Have had billy half/full stack on tap at R34 over the past 6 months -- and I was impressed. Glad to see them enter the Boston market.
