Why are Belgian beers so expensive?

    In Holland those beers are considerably cheaper than craft beer. $2 compared to $4 or $5 a pop.

    The high tax on beer in the UK is to blame for that.

    Pilsner Urquell is dirt cheap in the Czech Republic.

    Spaten is owned by AB-Inbev. Moortgat (brewer of Duvel) is way smaller.

    No. It's the opposite - there's no local tax on beer that is exported.

    Leffe isnt really expensive for what it is. I didnt like it that much either way.

    A year old but still true. Ive never seen those beers in packs, only bombers and they all range from $9-$12. Which is good compared to even some craft brewers in our own country.

    Wow. Ive seen a single bottle of it around $2 a 12oz.
