I stumbled upon a cache of 2013 alaskan smoked porter last week. Bought 2 and tried one already. I think next time I'm in the store I'll scoop up a handful more as they were as good as fresh.

I am doing the same with lizard of Liz had such high hopes for this beer and such a disappointment..... although I have high hopes that ageing this beer will allow the flavors to mellow and maybe mesh together better

I have a 2011 Three Philosophers that I bought in 2014. I couldn't decide when to drink it. But then I thought I might just keep it until 2021 as that's when I turn 40, and the beer would have been aged for 10 years. Bonus is that its a bottle with the old label. I hate what Ommegang has done to their labels since, they all look the same now.

I don't age beers with the intention of them getting better. They age because I like to have a nice collection to choose from. Now that releases are so often, I have less need to stock up.

I find most beers do not get better with age. Some exceptions include utopias, mephistopheles, and aventinus.
