Why do people post on the trade forums, lock their thread, and have their inboxes full? How do they expect people to reply or start conversation? Maybe they are unaware of their inboxes being full? If so, is there a prompt or anything stating your inbox is full?
I'll admit at first glance I thought "Wow Tom that's shitty" and then I went to my inbox seeing I'm 55% full but thought my messages would just fall off after a year or so. I guess not the case. I deleted a few but the wording "leave conversation" instead of delete messages, was a bit weird to me. Still I guess thanks for the inadvertent heads up. A useful thread just yeah it would be good for some those at 90% full to get a caution message. I think most wouldn't mind if messages just got purged after 6 months and this would help out the servers too, curious to hear a moderators' thoughts.
After reviewing my messages. Its showing my inbox is 2% full, with 3 messages. And I only ever leave conversation and keep it open for further replies so I don't know why it would delete out of my inbox and in some cases tie up other peoples inbox.
You mean selecting the conversation and clicking the "Leave Conversation" button? That removes it from your Inbox and thus taking up your space.
I have not deleted conversations for about a year. Last time I did it I recall having to click through twice. Don’t recall the exact buttons, but selecting it and clicking the button that I thought should remove it did not seem to. I had to then go back a second time and delete them.
To be honest, I wouldn't want my old messages to be deleted. I may try to rekindle a friendship with an old trade partner or I may need to see what I've traded to my Iowa connection. I also only keep my messages from BAs that I've completed trades with. Cheers!!
