I'd rather have the generic "Beer" in the white can.

What about when it really is nostalgia? Sure, I might not actually buy one in a bar, but it's what I grew up on-even when I was a little girl the foam from the top of a PBR was a special treat. It'll always have a special place in my heart.

Thanks for posting that link.Rheingold was my beer of choice way back when. it was not any better than the other beers you could buy, they all tasted about the same. It was mine and many others go to beer because of the bottle it came in.The Chug
-a-Mug war a wide mouth that was easy to drink from. The new owners either did not know or care about that. They were wrong.

I didn't find much about them selling it to the newer owners. I imagine it was a flop for them and they didn't get their money back.

I haven't had a PBR in years but the other night it was $1 a 12 oz can and someone bought me one. When they ran out they switched to $2 for a 16 oz can. The 12 oz was better in my opinion but I blame both for giving me the shits.... (and I started my day drinking a Damnation from Russian river!)

Because I have some redneck blood in me. While it doesn't make sense, ask old timers who used to drink it back in their heydays (WAAAY before hipsterdom came). Few of these old timers were my dad and his old hunting buddies. I guess their one of their old habits rubbed off on me.

Yes, I do enjoy PBR occasionally, and don't give a damn what anyone thinks. It's a solid all-around cheap-ass pissy beer and proud of it.

Because I like it, and because it reminds me of having one at night after rocking my infant son to sleep, while he slept on my shoulder. It is a fond memory of his newborn phase, and for that, it will always have a place in my heart.

On an unrelated note, I'd like to get through just one thread on non-craft beer without someone using the words "vile' or "swill." Seriously, buy a thesaurus.

When I do, it's because of choices 2 and 3...it's cheap and better than almost all the other AALs.

There is an event every week at a local bar here called "drink till you drown'. Pay $5 and drink PBR for 2 hours. That's why I drink it.

If it's the only option or that i'm piss ass broke. Even if i'm broke i think i could scrounge up some extra change for some Narragansett. Oly 95% is also a better option than PBR.

It's the go-to keg at parties and the go-to can in a lot of friends' refrigerators. Blatz is cheaper at the local dive though, and I like the packaging more, so on the rare occasions when I end up buying Beer My Dad Grew Up On™ that's what I'll have. Or Grain Belt if I'm at the Anchor in Superior eating $4.00 burgers.

Six bucks for a six pack of pints is definitely good value to me. It isn't great, but it is good. Cheap and good!

Drank it before the fancy pants hipsters did and will long after they move on to Strawberitas or what ever else they like. I drink it 'cause it don't cost too much $.
