Why do you use BeerAdvocate?

I use it for a social life, education, entertainment, and to know what new beers to try!

 

I use it to help educate myself in the world of beer!!

 

1) Keep track of the beers I've consumed
2) Learn about Beer
3) Mid-life Crisis

 

Couldn't have said it better myself! The people, the beers, the tunes ... one big virtual pub! WBAYDN thread has even inspired my trying new beers more than reviews.

 

Because I love craft beer.

 

Started off as great for beer trading, but now it's great beer talk and keeps me up too date on beer.

 

I use the site for many reasons, first and foremost is because I love chatting with others about the beers were drinking every day on WBAYDN and NBS. Secondly, to look up new beers and get an idea of what they're about. Third would be to keep up to date with the brewing world and know whats on the horizon, I mean theres hundreds of breweries within a 1 day drive of me and its nice to know in andvance when something new is gonna be coming out!

 

Because all the stores I've been to that post ratings always use RateBeer, which makes it clear their ratings are too high. Obviously they want the people who don't check these sites to see a high rating and think "woah, can't believe I stumbled across this 99 rated whale". When a beer's highly rated here, it means it might actually be good. When a beer has a high RB rating, it means it's a beer.

 

Because it is fun. The community is great. Plus the reviews are priceless. I no longer walk into the beer store without my smartphone. The last time I did I purchased a $17.99 dud that I drank only because it was so expensive :-)
