Why does Three Floyds use such cheap labels?

And take such little care in putting them on? Sure, the beer is pretty good and the artwork on the labels is pretty cool(scary), but come on...their labels are a cheap stickerish type and consistently are put on crooked and/or with creases. Additionally, it makes re-using the bottles for homebrew bottling virtually impossible cause no matter what you can't remove the label cleanly.

This brewery should take a note from the breweries that are using the nice vinyl labels as they present a much better appearance and can also be removed cleanly and used as stickers to put on coolers and such...advertising.

    Thoughts?

I don't have a problem with their labels and actually think they are really cool.

If the beer is good, I wouldn't care if it came in a zip lock pouch. I get what you're saying about homebrewing, but it's not a brewery's responsibility to make beers with "EZ PEEL" labels.

Yes. Because breweries have your homebrew in mind when deciding on labels.

Agree OP, was thinking the same thing as I was drinking a ZD last night. But I would rather them not take their focus off making awesome beer and get distracted by tinkering with the labels.

I gave several valid examples of why they are bad.

I can't believe I'm defending Three Floyds (not a fan), but why are you singling them out? There are a couple thousand breweries in this country and a lot of them use cheap labels that are hard to remove.

Theirs happened to be the bottle I was holding at the time. A Permanent Funeral with a crooked label with creases everywhere on it.

You'll really want to contact the brewery with this question. Large numbers of us never see Three Floyds' bottles and labels.

This is why I like boulevard.... Those labels slide right off with a little soap and warm water!

They use cheap labels so they can charge more.

Not to mention that FFF is about the worst offender of this that I've seen.

Isn't this the brewery that won't refill their own growlers, even after making customers buy the glass?

I doubt they care very much if homebrewers have difficulty removing their labels to reuse the bottles.

If you're in Louisiana, just how many 3F labels are you seeing?

its the contents of the bottle, not the bottle itself that is important..i cant believe you are making this an issue.

Make arrangements with your favorite local brew pub/beer bar. Have them give you all their used Craft Beer bottles. You help save the environment, Get your HB Bottled and not have to worry about drinking any more of that damned FFF beer!!
