Huh, wouldn't have guessed they're the biggest draft-only brewery in the country. I wonder if there's even less of a motivation to bottle/can with the rise of growler stations.

I'm not sure that's the reason, given they were refusing to can/bottle, yet brewing a lot of beer some time before growler stations became a thing. I think Georgetown just made themselves a niche they are comfortable with staying in.

I'd have liked it if they asked a few more questions about, say, plans for the future and whether they've got any more beers to put on the market any time soon, but an interesting read, nonetheless.

I've always happened to think they were pretty smart about doing a small number of beers and doing them pretty well. While my favorite NW Pale Ale is Field 41, Manny's is a pretty decent pale ale that you can find in a lot of different places and know you're getting a good beer.

Georgetown sells bottles of special releases at the brewery. Since they're not sold outside the brewery, is that why they're still considered draft only?

Maybe, or maybe whoever wrote the article didn't know about that. Do they do special releases very often? I've only been there a couple of times, and there weren't any bottles available either time.

Good read. My two cents...Lucille is the bomb and thank goodness for growler guys.

I picked up a bottle of Donkey Deux at the brewery a couple of years ago. Unimpressive. They don't do that sort of thing very often.

I really think Lucille is probably on of the most underated IPAs in Washington.

If they put that in 4 or 6 packs, it would be in my fridge at all times. As of now, I will pick up a growler every now and then but usually get it at various restaurants around town. Luckily, one of my most frequented places has it. Another place I hit once or twice a week has Top Cutter on draft so life is good.

They released their BBA Brown in bottles couple of months ago and their IIIPA before that. Best to follow them on facebook or twitter for updates on their bottle releases since you can only find them at the brewery.

They've also released their saison and a Brett beer in bottles.

Agreed - I will also note that they are VERY good friends to home brewers.
