When I go to the store it seems like every local, Ohio, or regional 4/6 pack is $9.99. I'd it just me or are the beers we are purchasing at this price mediocre or is the beer really worth it?
To me, production breweries csn not charge that price to survive: I have been drinking c raft beer for a long time and the prices have begun to deterr me from buy certain beer. C
Can't have pricing based on supply & demand since the state sets minimum pricing. No sales or great deals like neighboring states. Only benefit is that you don't often have buyer's remorse since every place has the same lowest price. I wonder how they come up with the price per UPC? I have had stores refuse to sell hard to find stuff that they had in the back (Mars, Oracle) because they didn't get the UPC/price from the state.
This is why stores that do a mix 6 or let you buy singles are awesome 10 bucks for beer that taste only as good as a basic home brew kit isn't my cup of tea with so much great beer out there I can buy
Clearly you've been hitting the "c raft" beer pretty hard. I have better things to think about when I'm drunk (usually TNA) other than beer semantics. But to answer your question $9.99 is pretty much the standard average now a days for a six pack and I think it's a pretty fair price.
I'm sure your typing skills are immaculate at all times. Am I right? Trav, I know man, makes me wonder why they are charging what they are. I rarely buy 6 packs, nowadays, I usually buy singles or larger format bottles that aren't an arm and a leg.
Maybe I am in the minority here, but I like six packs. And even at $9.99 they are still the best value. I know this has been beaten to death but when you break down the cost camparison of bombers and six packs, it's not even close.
It's just very frustrating to walk into a store and see every beer 9.99 and knowing that the quality of some of those beers is very low. Lagunitas is always a go to for me because their beer is usually a dollar or two cheaper than the next brewery. And I agree with you Scott, I prefer singles and cheap bombers over six pack nowadays that way I'm not commuting to 6 and beers if it's something I haven't had.
Hmm..I never have any trouble finding 6ers under that price and I shop in SC, NC and Ohio mainly. Although I agree the better ones are $10 for a six pack...and up.
That is what I'm getting at. Beer in Indiana is more expensive vs other states. We don't see many $9.99 sixers.
