That's an interesting opinion because outside of a few of their core beers that have stayed at $9.99/sixer everything else is in the ballpark with, well, everything else from what I have seen.

That’s a bummer to hear. Union Jack at TotalWine in by hood is $7.99 and I can find it in the fridge section, so stored clod, and usually around 30 days old. It’s my go to.

Because they use a lot of refined sugar and is considered a headache beer.

Reminds me of the famous Yogi Berra quote about a restaurant, "Nobody goes there any more. It's too crowded."

Agreed. Here in PA, I believe I got a 6er (or 2) last year for $11.49/6er. That's damn cheap for a Triple IPA in PA. Even when High West-ified/Willettized were in 6 packs, they were still like $14/6er. Such a value.

More like 12 bucks a 6-pack in my area and it has been over a year since I purchased one since they are consistently old (4-5+ months from packaging).

Non-cheers to old and expensive beer!:slight_frown:

Because their brewer is probably the best in the world, ok never mind it's Jeremy from Founders ok it used to be Tomme Arthur. Unless it used to be Vinnie? from Russian River or the Alchemist whatever his name is? My point is, great beer doesn't have to stupidly expensive. Maybe it's Dick Yuengling, the oldest brewer in the world? Or maybe it's Catholic or Belgian monks from the 1400's? Or whatever, maybe it's the dinner we had last night 2 for $30 where everywhere else the same dinner is $30? Why is this diner 2 for $30? Because.

Don't waste a bunch of money on advertising. I like that don't really mess with adjuncts- straight to the point. When fresh, one of the best beers out there.

Would like them to invest in a better dating system though. I hate getting burned on old beers. Fresh "Sucks" is one of the best beers, ever. Buy it buy the case when I can verify it's new.

Just picked up a sixer if brown shugga for $8.99. Usually Lagunitas goes on sale for a dollar less than that.

When is the last time you saw Lagunitas pay for a TV commercial?

    Not much overhead for advertising.

Exactly. I'm not a fan of bomber format, but damn - I've gotten decent Lagunitas stout in bombers for under $5, and decent BA stouts in bombers for under $10. That's 1/3 to 1/4 the price of their competitor's. They're opting not to gouge on bombers. They've also sold sixers of decent BA stouts for $12.

Not trying to argue but when have you ever seen a craft brewery have a TV commercial outside of Sam Adams? Seems like an odd metric to single out.

So they must brew the Lagunitas beers in Bulgaria, keep the Sucks for themselves, and ship the stuff to an offshore oil platform convenient to Petaluma.

Seems like the nano- and micro-breweries need to feed into hype (if lucky enough to have any) and price higher to get over the "just starting out" hump. Lucky for Lagunitas, they're past that and have found their sweet spot.

They must make huge contributions to NPR because they are constantly advertising on our local affiliate.
