Why isn't CBS a regular yearly release?

We all need to buy more BBA maple syrup so more empty barrels are created. I'm not going to put a website here and get accused of pimping, but 'blis gourmet' are key words to the company source for the Founders bourbon maple barrels.

Same, have plenty of family in Ohio, none were able to get it. Tried with a trading partners on here and was literally asked for a black tuesday for 2 KBS bottles. I declined.

Like $20 I think. But it's way, way over the hill at this point, shadow of its former self. I wouldn't buy it if I saw it for $5. Well, except to trade, because some people out there don't understand that these beers don't age for crap.

Because, there wouldn't be such a high demand for it.

If you can get something all the time, you're least likely to enjoy it as much. If Founders can get people to go absolutely nuts for CBS then they have us in the palm of their hands.

With that being said, this is my personal white whale and my beer drinking life would be complete because this is one of 2 beers (Parabola) that I NEED to have at least once.

To be completely honest, besides the fact that it isn't easy to make and they only have so much space with their other BA beers, I really think they're not going to release it alot cause they don't want it to get ordinary. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but after having CBS through trading for it and buying a few bottles, I was rather unimpressed. Definitely was not a top 5 stout for me, and I was expecting it to be. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if it was released more it wouldn't be as big of a deal. Why else do you think Kate the Great is so hard to get?

I imagine it just plain old takes a lot of space to age beer. I mean where do they put the barrels during aging? They can only have so much space what with all the other things they barrel age.

    They have a cave. Srsly.

    Founders' cave > Batcave.

Make friends with the beer guys at your local stores if they seem like cool people.

The rep from Founders I spoke with said they're almost definitely going to make CBS again. He said the limiting factor is the maple bourbon barrels, and the next backstage release will likely be Black Biscuit, so I wouldn't expect to see another round of bottles for a bit

They seem cool with me but they're probably cool with anybody that goes in there and buys beer. One of the guys I see and talk to more than the others -- but it doesn't help that much. When KBS came in, APPARENTLY, they only got 3 or 4 four-packs of it and raffled it off.

At the same time, there have been times where he's seen me and said "I have some ____ in the back." so it's not all bad.

I wouldn't necessarily say flops. It's just hard to follow up the first three. I'd argue that all were really tasty, with Frangelic being the flop (though I really enjoyed that as well).

I was in a bar the other day and we noticed KBS on tap. Said something to the owner about last time he had it, it sold out in minutes, whats the deal? He said he decided to not publicize it this time, he wanted his regulars like us to be able to get a chance at it.

I dont drink stouts, so I didnt order it, but both my friends did. Actually, I ordered it for one of them as he was walking in the door, because I knew he wouldnt be passing it up.

As someone who hasn't had CBS, I'd gladly welcome another bottled batch of it.

YOU ARE TEARING ME APART, FOUNDERS.

These same "reps" are the ones who tell people that the base of KBS is just Breakfast Stout along with other inaccurate information. Our selective listening is amazing...
