Was looking for any posts on Boise and realized..woah Idaho is not in the Northwest. I think in reality it is part of the Oregon, WA , Alaska region.
It's listed with Mountain states. It's been suggested before that the Panhandle should be NW, and the rest Mountain, but it gets tricky where to draw the line. Plus, look at the of the region's here: arguably, NorCal could be considered part of the NW. NY is listed in Mid-Atlantic, when parts of it could be New England, Canada and Midwest. It would be too much of a headache to split states. Since most of Idaho's population is in the southern part of the state, it makes sense to put it in Mountain . Much as I'd love to claim Selkirk Abbey as ours.
I think the whole of Idaho especialy nowadays in in Cascadia/ PNW far more in common with us than say Colorado
Idaho doesn’t get a mention cause honestly there isn’t anything that awesome coming out of Idaho. Had beers from almost every brewery at one point in time. I don’t even bother anymore.
I disagree..I have a had a few beers recently frm Idaho and they have been fine. Unless you mean no hipster hype beers..then that is true
Yup totally. The lack of “hipster hype” beers is exactly what I mean. I saw you say you had some Woodland Empire beers you liked. I’ve probably bought 6 or so of their cans over the last year. I’ve had diacetyl bombs, super oxidized hoppy beers, and like almost every other pale beer brewed in the state has that back of through harshness from the super alkalin water in the state. I’ve literally poured every Woodland Empire beer I’ve ever had out. Dark Beers are generally the way to go when in Idaho due to the water. I believe Boise Brewing Company did just win a WBC gold for their stout which is cool. Gonna have to try it when I’m back there again in a month or so.
Thats why i said recently..Wodland Empires beers..least the ones i can get here have improved drastically even in the last year/
Based on the U.S. Census Bureau's mapping of the regions back when we added regional forums. No plans to change it at this time either.
