Nice to see Raz Bu and Blu Bu hit the board. Just in time for my trip out there on Thursday!

Went last weekend (Sat 7/18)... beers were outstanding, drank my fill in both draft and bottle selections.... but HOLY SHIT it was hot in there! Insufferable almost. Had to retreat to the bathroom corridor area just to get some cool air from the brewery.

    Sorry man. :slight_frown:
We never see 80F out here, much less the even higher temps last week. Most places on the coast just dont have cooling in place for it because it never happens. We are looking into options though, because even one week is too much.

    DRINK MOAR COLD BEER.

    FEEL REFRESHED.

Solution: 1L pours as an option.

    Maybe a portable AC?

That being said, I think it's asking a lot to expect a brewery tasting room to install AC, just so they can keep the place cool the maybe one or two days out of the year when there might be some benefit. Was in Tacoma a couple weeks back during their heat wave (temps in the mid 90's), and encountered the same problem. We walked out of the Red Hot, as it was stifling hot in there... the place didn't even have fans. Things were a bit better at the E9 and Parkway tavern (as at least they had fans), but it was apparent that most places were simply unprepared for the sort of heat they were experiencing that week. I think it really puts a bar/pub/tasting room in a difficult bind... you want your customers to be comfortable, but it's hard to justify the expense of an AC system, that you likely won't use more than a few days out of the year (if that!).

I went with my GF and her sister and her boyfriend, they had never really had sours . They all loved the place, not only was the @deGardebrewing staff super awesome, the fruited beers Ive found pretty much anyone will like (and if you are a beer nerd you will appreciate it even more). Upon our return to Portland we hit up some bottles shops and decided it would be a good idea to make BuMosa's sunday morning. Delicious Sacrelige

I traveled along with @CenCalMario and while I was sweating out Hose I gotta give it up to your staff. Lines out the door for the few hours that we were there and they handled it in stride. Oh and that in-house bottle list. :grimacing:

I hit up de Garde today. Got there at 2:55 and was happy to see others were there waiting. When the doors opened at 3, the line was out the door. My wife and I got three glasses - citrus dasay, raz bu, and Equinox hose. Cool vibe, nice staff, sat outside looking at the mountains and enjoying a pleasant breeze (much better than the 91 degrees it was when we arrived last sat). Whale glasses sold out, bummer. Final verdict - all three drinks were easy going down. Totally different taste than what I am used to. Both my wife and myself both felt that our drinks didn't scream beer, didn't feel like we were drinking beer. Felt like fruit drinks. Don't think I will seek our sours again, but if someone offered me one at a party, I wouldn't turn it down. Glad I went.
