I'm curious. I just saw someone got a "warning" in the ISO:FT forum for bumping his thread.

What is the logic behind this? If he made up some reason for responding to this thread like "getting a lot of inquiries about x but I'm not interested in x" would that be okay, even though it accomplishes the same thing as a bump?

Is making a whole new posting really preferable to a bump? Because I think that is what is going to start happening if this is enforced.

The fact of the matter is, people look at the forums at different times of the day, and the forum moves so fast that many offers get buried before potentially interested traders can see them.

I'm with you. Live and let live, IMO. But that doesn't really seem to be the motto around here.

if you're not adding any aditional info, what's the point? Soon we will have 100 threads all 'bumped' and 'bumped again' and 'bumped for the PM crowd' and 'bumped for the AM crowd' and 'Bumped for another viewing' etc etc.

Meanwhile, the people who post their threads normally have theirs buried in an avalanche of meaningless bumps.

What Shogo said. No bumping. Simple rule. Follow it. Thanks. /end
