Have some for trade if anyone interested. Funkatorium opens Sept 1st I believe. Expecting huge things from those boys.

Can't freakin wait to visit the Funkatorium. From the pics I saw from Funk fest it looks pretty awesome. Anybody go to that?

Good to hear. Lover their beers, really look forward to picking them up in cans. Hopefully the expansion will mean easily accessible cans in the Fort Mill/Charlotte/Rock Hill area

We still have 3 or 4 bottle offerings at Brawley's in Charlotte.

So glad to see them expanding. Visited the place this time last year. Beer was awesome as was the food. The sour beers I had there were on par with the likes of Russian River. Freak is a great IPA and I was equally impressed with Coolcumber.

I was at the Beer for Prostate event, which was a Sour Beer event held at their new barrel aging facility. It was a great event, had some tasty brews, can't wait for the next one.

    Favorites in order where:
    Cascade's Apricot Sour
    Stillwater's Gose Gone Wild
Natty Green's Sorgum and American Sour
then a Watermelon sour out of Atlanta I think. It took me by surprise.

Nice. What did you think of the place?

It was/is a storage facility, with barrels om the walls. Nothing special. At least on that night. Don't get me wrong it was decorated and all with a DJ.as far as i know they don't do any tastings there.

I hear ya. Yeah it's not open to the public yet, but they are going to do tastings there once it is open. Based on what I've read at least.

Yep, they just opened it for the festival -- but they are shooting for a September opening, and they will have a nice taproom once it's all said and done. Sixteen taps, with all but 2-3 pouring sours.

That sounds like a very legitimate possibility!

This is awesome news! Curious what beers they plan on bottling and canning beyond the sours and Freak. Tyranny, Tyrant, a couple single IPAs, a Porter, Sir Ryan the Pounder Amber, a Pale Ale, are all regular beers for them. Then they have the non-Brett saisons that are good and rotate. Tons of options!

Hope the price points are reasonable. If Freak of Nature is in the $5-$7 bomber range, I'll buy it a lot. If it's closer to $10, I won't.

At the exponential rate WW is growing, currently non-existent Freak cans might become easily available before Hop Drop does ha.

Wicked Weed just sent out an official press release for the new brewery as well as "A Slow Growth Manifesto," which is particularly relevant to some of the discussion in this thread.

They just came into some more Citra hops, so expect to see more cans out in the market fairly soon.

From the production facility fact sheet they just sent out:

Sounds like they really want to rotate through lots of different beers, which explains why they went with a 30-barrel brewhouse and not something much larger.

I just feel lucky that I live about an hour and a half from the joint.
